    Assistant Internal Auditor

    Description

    • The Assistant Internal Auditor is primarily responsible for performing various audit functions to ensure the core mandate of the department of planning, executing, and reporting on operational, financial, governance, risk and compliance related matters for Tamarind Management Limited and its associated operations are achieved.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct risk assessments and prepare risk registers for the company.
    • Identify and evaluate risks on audited activities.
    • Check all accounting processes and the company’s accounting system databases.
    • Be objective in approach and act as an independent advisor on internal controls and risk management matters
    • Continuously develop knowledge in the sector regarding rules, regulations, best practices, techniques, and performance standards.
    • Help to review and proffer solutions to internal audit issues.
    • Assist with special investigation and recommend fraud deterrent measures.
    • Recommend the best and proven ways for the company to avoid fraud and reduce risks.
    • Check, and verify accounting records to ascertain that they conform with industry standards, best practices, and corporate guidelines.
    • Ensure total compliance with company policies/SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and internationally accepted auditing standards.
    • Work harmoniously with external auditors as requested by the organization.
    • Supervise, train, and mentor staff, including interns on audit processes; and assess the performance of staff.
    • Perform random checks to process e.g. billing, receiving, dispatch, and functions.
    • Conduct surprise float counts and circulate reports reference. 
    • Check bank reconciliations and follow up on aged or unexplained bank reconciling items.
    • Audit and circulate bi-weekly reports for voids, returns, and discounts.
    • Audit petty cash and follow up on any queries with the respective persons to ensure all petty cash payments conform to the company policy  
    • Perform random daily unit banking reports checks to ensure compliance with daily banking procedures and follow up on how variances are resolved.
    • In consultation with the head of the department, occasionally, visit Tamarind Management limited business units to perform audit checks on various operational areas to ensure there is compliance with set controls and procedures.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE 

    • Strong data analytics skills.
    • Ability to interpret financial and accounting data, and the knowledge of accounting principles.
    • Strict confidentiality to the professionally acquired information.
    • High integrity and be of unquestionable character.
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills. 
    • Keen eye to details.
    • Proven teamwork with a high sense of team spirit.
    • Positive and professional attitude.
    • Possess high levels of professionalism, integrity, and truthfulness in all dealings
    • Possess strong knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
    • Possess advanced skills in computer applications and other accounting software.
    • Understanding of Hotel and Restaurant Operational Procedures and Systems.
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline. 
    • CPA-Intermediate Level.
    • At Least three (3) years of relevant working experience.

    Group Sales Executive

    Description

    • A sales executive helps to build a business by recognizing new business prospects and selling products to them. They maintain relationships with the current clients and develop and maintain new client relationships.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and manage relationships with clients, vendors, and key partners.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and targeted outreach.
    • Create and present proposals for potential clients, highlighting the unique value proposition of Tamarind Group.
    • Collaborate with event planning team to ensure seamless execution of events, from conception to completion.
    • Monitor and report on sales performance and provide regular updates to senior management.
    • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our sales strategies and processes.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE 

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in sales for events and banqueting services.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

    Hostess/ Receptionist

    • A Hostess is responsible to the Supervisor and assists him in ensuring that smooth and efficient service is carried out in the service department. She is further responsible for courteous, friendly and professional welcoming of guests to ensure guest's comfort and satisfaction.Coordinates booking and functions as well as working with the service team on PR and Customer care in liaison with the Events and Marketing Coordinator.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintains stocks of note pads and other service stationary and ensures that the same are used rationally and economically.
    • Participates in the pre-meal briefing.
    • Ensures guests lists, reservations and bookings are recorded
    • Ensures general cleanliness of the welcome desk.
    • Update of database with guest contacts
    • Daily broadcast of posters and upcoming events
    • Handling of the reservations Phone & inquiry.
    • Checks the cleanliness and condition of furniture, linen, cutlery, chinaware, glassware, condiments and other service accessories and takes appropriate corrective action where necessary.
    • Check the setup of tables and correct layout of the restaurant.
    • Maintains professional guest relations by receiving, greeting and guiding guests to their tables and inquiring if guests like the position of their table.
    • Prepares a daily guest checklist ensuring all guests have been allocated a table
    • Ensures that all guests are attended to without delay.
    • Attends any guest's complaint immediately and reports to the Manager.
    • Monitors the guest's satisfaction and comfort throughout the meal.
    • Ushers the guests from the restaurant upon completion of their meal.
    • Keeps record of all the suggestions and comments from guests and passes them to the Managers.
    • Records all the covers sold and ensures that covers tally at the end of shift
    • Ensures that there are sufficient clean wine lists, menus and cocktail menu for daily use. Check that the above are well stocked at the side boards.
    • Checks and ensures that the entrance desk is kept clean and tidy at all times. Checks and ensures that guests are billed and payment collected for all services rendered.
    • Acquaints herself in the identification of different groups of customers. i.e. regular customers, other VIP's and business clientele.
    • Ensures that detailed Birthday checklists are done and distributed to concerned departments in good time.
    • Ensure that a detailed report of every session is written for future reference.
    • Make follow-ups with guests we have hosted to seek feedback and connections
    • Keep and share a monthly record of all cold visits,cold calls and all PR activities
    • To perform any other duties assigned to you by the management.

    SKILLS/ABILITIES, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE 

    • Diploma in a relevant field/ Reputable college training
    • Minimum 1-year working experience in a similar role
    • Familiar with hospitality operating systems an advantageKnowledge of current trends in the industry.
    • Should be customer oriented
    • Must possess outstanding communication skills
    • Be trained as a First Aider, Fire Marshall and an on the job trainer.
    • Demonstrate leadership by setting a positive and professional example for others. ∙
    • Implement service standards supported by training and development programs for all internal stakeholders, their subordinates and all direct reports
    • Ensure effective interdepartmental communication at all times.
