    Manager, Legal Services

    Job Description

    The job holder reports to the Head of Legal Services. He/She is charged with the following responsibilities:-:


    1. Interprets legal opinions and offers guidance on legal requirements.
    2. Co-ordinates the preparation, execution, registration and renewal of debentures, charges and chattels.
    3. Ensures proper and safe custody of all legal documentation.
    4. Reviews leases and contracts drawn by third parties.
    5. Issues instructions to auctioneers, advocates and valuers.
    6. Liaises with and supervises external advocates.
    7. Represents the Corporation in court.
    8. Manages litigation and conveyancing divisions.

     Qualifications and experience

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law, applicants with professional Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
    2. Diploma in Law [KSL]
    3. Advocate of the high court of Kenya
    4. 5 years’ experience in a comparable and relevant field/Institution
    5. Computer literacy

    2. Higher Education Loans Board (clearance Certificate)
    3. Criminal investigation Department (Certificate of Good Conduct)
    4. EACC (Self Declaration form)
    5. CRB Certificate

    Branch Manager

    Job Description

    The job holder reports to the Regional Manager. He/She is charged with the following responsibilities:-:


    The job holder is in-charge of the Branch operations and performs the following tasks: –

    1. Plans, supervises and coordinates the operations of the branch;
    2. Guides and advises on credit management and administrative policies;
    3. Responsible for the preparation and implementation of branch plans and budgets;
    4. Appraises, evaluates credit applications for approval.
    5. Coordinates disbursement and monitors project implementation;
    6. Co-ordinates loan recovery measures including foreclosure and advertisement;
    7. Manages the branch credit portfolio;
    8. Undertakes monitoring and evaluation and prepares periodic reports;
    9. Manages branch staff and other resources and advises on use and deployment;
    10. Represents the Corporation at the stakeholders’ forums;
    11. Handles the performance management; supervision and development of staff in the Branch.

    Qualifications and experience

    1. General Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Social Science or a related fields from a recognized university.
    2. Post graduate diploma in Agriculture, Cooperative Management, Banking, Entrepreneurship, Microfinance or equivalent, will be an added advantage.
    3. 7 years’ experience in a busy service oriented environment preferably in the Agricultural Sector, Banking Sector or within a development financial Institution.
    4. Sound background in Credit operations and portfolio management.
    5. Be a team player who is able to develop strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
    6. Computer literacy is a must

    2. Be a result oriented relationship builder with an exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and capacity to work under pressure without supervision in tough and competitive environment so as to grow a collectable portfolio and increase the volume of AFC lending business.

    4. Leadership skills for teams
    5. Good credit underwriting skills
    6. Analytical and critical thinker.
    7. Possess excellent organization, mobilization, interpersonal and influencing skills.
    8. Be a team player who is able to develop strong relationships with range of stakeholders and demonstrates ability to influence at multiple levels within the Agricultural Sector.
