    Manager, People Operations

    What You Will Do

    • Administration of compensation activities and ensuring correct implementation of company procedures such as payroll
    • Administer our employee data management system. Responsibilities include entering accurate staff details, and double-checking that the data is complete and accurate.
    • Generating analysis reports of employee data for internal and external users such as reports to our funders. 
    • Compile relevant data and recommendations to guide decision-making related to compensation, organisation structure, attrition, promotions and other People Operations related activities. Analyse trends in the organisation, economy and employment marketplace to identify issues and opportunities to enhance workforce planning strategies. 
    • Project manage the process of job evaluation and salary surveys, supporting to ensure that approved salary bands and People policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee experience.
    • Managing the smooth execution of the organisation’s benefits programs including: insurance programs and leave management. Provide feedback on employee satisfaction and queries and brainstorm new cost-effective programming with the People Director and People Group.
    • Carrying out research as needed on compensation programs when required to ensure that ours are aligned with the current industry trends, practices and costs.
    • Evaluate compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements with regard to compensation and benefits.
    • Carry out training and sending communication to ensure organisation-wide understanding of compensation and benefits and any pay-related activity e.g. reimbursements and advance policies. 
    • Monitor the effectiveness of People procedures across the employee life cycle such as on-boarding and induction for all those who join us

    What You Should Have

    • Bachelors degree from a reputable university. 
    • Minimum 3 years of full-time work experience after graduation from your undergraduate degree.
    • Excellent email, Excel /spreadsheet, MS Word/word processing skills.
    • Good knowledge or the willingness to learn and navigate labour laws. 
    • Strong knowledge of Salary structure, Benefits and compensation, Surveys/benchmarking, Job evaluation systems.
    • Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
    • Experience in a challenging, dynamic and complex business environment.

    Programme Manager, Schools

    What You Will Do

    • Coordinate the Management of Bridge Kenya Community Schools in collaboration with the Director of Schools.
    • Supervise and Manage Community engagement strategy for building powerful community schools
    • Develop, manage and supervise PTA engagement activities in day to day running of the schools
    • Coordinate schools, supplies, grounds, and overall inventory management; principal supervision and mentorship; and more – including accountability measures
    • Coordinate community outreach across all Bridge Kenya communities including advertisements, events, communications, programmes, promotions and more aimed at parents, community leaders and influencers, and general public
    • Spend time in Bridge Kenya communities developing knowledge of the communities as well as driving customer insights and critical business issues opportunities
    • Assist in recruiting, induction trainings, workshops, and on-going professional development
    • Oversee the collation of information from all departments; maintain weekly trackers, supervise data collection from field; work with assigned partners and Director to increase community linkages.
    • Ensure that schools` grounds and buildings are maintained, oversee repairs, and training principles.
    • Develop and work with Parent Teachers Associations, Community Leaders in developing strategic plans for school management.
    • Oversee activities of the department in the absence of the Director.

    What You Should Have

    • A Bachelor's degree in Social sciences, Community Development, Business Management or in any relevant field
    • At least 5 years relevant experience, including extensive experience in operations, programme management, managing field teams, retail, sales, and customer strategy
    • Prior experience working within a fast-paced, metric driven sales organization; start up or high-growth company experience preferred
    • Experience working with low income customers; community engagement in the education or health sector is a major plus
    • Experience planning events; interacting with major stakeholders; community, business and government

    Regional Manager, Schools

    What You Will Do

    • Be responsible for the success of schools and all Supervisors, including all aspects of learning outcomes, school management, and community and parent engagement.
    • Ensure each Supervisor delivers on their oversight of schools and individual KPIs. Their schools should deliver the promise of learning and holistic development for children, and have a strong and high-performing cohort of teachers. 
    • Provide Supervisors with day to day oversight, guidance and coaching. This includes facilitating regular touchpoints with supervisors, reading and responding to reports submitted by the supervisors, and providing feedback on their work. 
    • Provide Supervisors with all training necessary for their success, including their onboarding, professional development, and “train the trainer” sessions for content that supervisors need to deliver to their School leaders. 
    • Use data from multiple sources, including your own field visits, quality assurance audits, and big data on school staff behavior, and lead supervisors to improve their oversight, mentoring and professional development for School leaders. 
    • Coach supervisors in their use of data to provide data-driven oversight and guidance for school leaders, and creation of Supervisor route plans. 
    • Be in schools 80% of the time, observing Supervisors and providing feedback after on ways the supervisor can further support the School leader and/or teachers. 
    • Work with relevant government stakeholders in all matters affecting the success and sustainability of schools such as school registration, etc. 
    • When observing or holding meetings, use rubrics or other documents to support structured observation and reporting. 
    • Support specific school events, including collaborating on programming for such events as school opening celebrations, parent teacher conferences and school closing celebrations, as well as community showcases and participation on co-curricular competitions. 
    • Through Supervisors, ensure school staff and students are prepared to sit in government-proctored exams, as they may occur on a termly basis, and with particular attention to national examinations.
    • Through Supervisors, ensure school strength and support enrollment efforts.
    • Through Supervisors, ensure local regulatory processes are followed, including environmental & social standards, as well as national regulations. 
    • Through Supervisors, ensure that leadership & development sessions are delivered to schools during the course of the school year, and during induction training for new staff. Supervisors should use the materials and programming developed by the Leadership & Development team. 
    • Work with the Leadership & Development team and L&D Manager to provide, facilitate on-going professional development for School leaders through Supervisors. 
    • Through Supervisors, support schools through transition of staff, including school leaders and teachers. 
    • Supervise budget and optimization, prevent fraud and ensure financial discipline among Supervisors. 
    • Guide Supervisors in developing a clear travel plan and workflow for each week.

    Supervisor, Schools

    What You Will Do

    • Be responsible for supervising the work of all School Leaders in your assigned area, including all aspects of learning outcomes, School Management, and community and parent engagement in their schools. Ensure each School Leader delivers on their schools and individual KPIs. Ensure all schools deliver the promise of learning and holistic development for children, have a strong and high-performing cohort of teachers, operate within its budget and sustain enrollment necessary for financial sustainability;
    • Use data from multiple sources, including your own field visits, school inspections audits, and big data on school staff behavior, to lead School Leaders to improve their oversight and support to teachers, with an unwavering eye to student learning and holistic development.
    • Use data from multiple sources to ensure School Leaders are effectively managing their schools, and creating safe learning environments.
    • Be in schools 80% time, observing teaching, management and providing feedback after on how to improve their class instructions as well as coaching and management of the school leader and teachers.
    • When observing or holding meetings, use rubrics or other documents to support structured observation and reporting.
    • Support specific school events, including collaborating on programming for such events as school opening celebrations, parent teacher conferences and school closing celebrations, as well as community showcases and participation in co-curricular competitions.

    • Ensure local regulatory processes are followed, including schools registration, business permits, final pupil exams registration,environmental & social standards, as well as other national schools regulations. 
    • Ensure school staff and students are prepared to sit in government-proctored exams, as they may occur on a termly/semester basis, and with particular attention to national examinations. 
    • Deliver leadership & development sessions to schools during the course of the school year, and during induction training for new staff using the materials and programming developed by the Leadership & Development team. 
    • Support schools through transition of staff, including school leaders and teachers; work with local government and other local organizations as needed.
    • Be responsible for ensuring all schools have qualified teachers and school leaders at all times by ensuring school leaders are actively building a pipeline of school staff candidates, leveraging parents, local government leadership and other local organizations.
    • Working directly with county or regional government leadership, teacher training centers or regional organizations to support sourcing candidates for school staff. 
    • Oversee school budget and optimization, prevent fraud and ensure financial discipline.

    Officer, Finance

    What You Will Do

    • Ensure revenue is captured accurately by the finance shared services team and adheres to IFRS and Bridge reporting standards.
    • Subject matter expert; ensure resolution of accounting issues raised by shared services team on a timely basis.
    • Drive financial period closing, preparation of monthly financial statements, reconciliations, reports and management notes with the Finance Shared Service.
    • Preparation of quarterly unit profit and loss account and management notes.
    • Preparation of Finance weekly dashboard and updating budget & other finance  trackers.
    • Work with the legal team and ensure that academy leases are renewed on time and data shared with the shared services team.
    • Uploading fees payment in pupils accounts, correcting any anomalies daily.  
    • Resolution of pupils’ accounts issues on a timely basis and recommending improvements to avoid recurrence.
    • Responsible for maintaining and reporting on all academy repairs, actual spend vs budget.
    • Coordinate stock taking on a quarterly basis and reconciliation between actual inventory held and the Inventory ledger, investigating any variances and recommending action.
    • Compiling Fixed assets listing for Insurance purposes, ensuring that additions and deletions are done on time,  communicated to the sourcing team..
    • Filing of VAT & WHT returns on a monthly basis and ensures payments are made on time as per statutory requirements. 
    • Ensure timely payment of payroll statutory and other deductions, for example PAYE, NSSF NHIF, Sacco etc. and filing of returns where required by Finance Shared Service.
    • Assist Finance Director in managing statutory audit by ensuring that schedules are prepared on time, audit queries resolved timely in order to mitigate audit overruns.
    • Assist the finance director in preparation and compilation of the East Africa operating budget.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    What You Should Have

    • A degree in accounting Finance, Economics or a related field
    • CPA K with an excellent academic record.
    • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in corporate finance/accounting; performing highly rigorous, complex financial analysis.
    • Good understanding of local tax requirements.
    • Experience in managing a team. 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics (Navision).
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft office, an expert in Microsoft Excel a MUST.
    • Experience working closely with a company to build financial and operating models at a deep level, particularly on a multi-country level.
    • Experience in preparation of management reports, notes and presentation.
    • Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams.
    • Highly innovative, with excellent analytical skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • High integrity, IT literacy.
    • Ability to plan, manage own workload in order to meet tight deadlines
