    Chief Transactions Manager

    Responsibilities for the Chief Manager

    Reporting to the Executive Director/CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the ED/CEO in leading privatization transactions. Other key responsibilities include:-

    • Provide leadership, maintain discipline, trains and appraises staff in the team.
    • Motivate and nurture the department to achieve overall objectives.
    • Lead the department by budgeting, planning and directing resources to achieve targets and objectives.
    • Supervise the development, implementation and management of Transaction policies.
    • Oversee staff development.
    • Ensure performance measures are designed to evaluate performance against the strategic plan.
    • Ensure reporting on work done into the reporting structures in the Institution on a monthly; quarterly or annual basis.
    • Play a senior leadership role in bringing the internal community along to support the outputs delivered by developing effective and strategic relationships.

    • Create awareness, publicity and advocacy of the privatization programme to galvanize support nationally and internally;
    • Create and maintain strong relationships and communication linkages with key stakeholders;
    • Monitor and evaluate all aspects central to the execution of the privatization transactions;
    • Ensure close collaboration and coordination between the various transactions;
    • Provide secretarial, logistical and coordination services to the transactions;
    • Prepare transaction action plan, and the associated budgets;
    • Identify and manage transaction’s commercial and project risks and opportunities;
    • Identify required advisory services, developing Terms of Reference (TOR) for advisory assignments and coordinating the procurement processes;
    • Provide technical oversight and advice on specific transactions including quality-reviewing and disseminating all consultant reports and comments from stakeholders;
    • Monitor privatization transactions and ensuring that data required for demonstrating transaction impact and lessons learned are collected, analyzed and integrated into transaction monitoring and evaluation system

    Qualifications and Experience For The Chief Manager Job

    • A relevant master’s degree from a recognized university;
    • A Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent studies from a recognized university;
      CPA (K), CFA or equivalent professional qualification and membership of relevant professional bodies;
    • At least 12 years post graduation experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at a senior managerial level.

    Objectives of the Job

    • Human resource planning, including planning, coordination of staffing and resourcing processes – recruitment, selection, placement, induction, and counseling and separation Management.
    • Undertaking training needs assessment,
    • Identification of interventions and developing Training intervention programmes;
    • Implementation of employees’ training and development initiatives/programme;
    • Evaluation of the training programmes to ensure its effectiveness;
    • Planning and Coordinating on-boarding programmes;
    • Development and Implementation Staff career development programmes;
    • Ensuring effective talent and succession management within the Commission;
    • Coordination of the commission internship programme and recruitment of interns;
    • Coordination of on-boarding initiatives.

    Performance contract and management:

    • Coordinating the cascading of the performance contract, facilitating annual work plans, signing of performance contract agreements;
    • Monitoring performance and ensuring quarterly targets and annual are met;
    • Coordinating and planning Staff Performance reviews / evaluations;
    • Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual performance reports to relevant authorities for decision making;
    • Coordinating job analysis and job evaluation reviews and staff compensation;
      Insurance: Plan, initiate and coordinate procurement and implementation of all Commission insurance schemes and monitor utilization for effective use;
    • Coordination and Administration of staff insurance, Availing necessary administrative requirements to every office in the Commission;
    • Absence Management, including coordinating development of individual and organization annual leave plans and ensuring implementation of the plans;
    • Overseeing efficient and effective utilization of the Commission resources;
    • Implementing the Commission’s administrative policies and procedures:
    • Work environment-ensure communication on issues related to safety and health of staff.
    • Repairs-identification and ensuring areas and assets requiring repairs are done and preparation of repair logs.
    • Maintenance-implementation of maintenance policy, prepare maintenance schedules and implementation of the same.
    • General office:-managing and ensuring that outsourced services are in place for office cleaning.
    • Commission assets management, including ensuring that the Commission fleet is maintained and running and monitoring utilization and insurance covers.

    Qualifications For Chief Manager, Finance and Administration

    • A Master’s Degree in Finance or its equivalent from a recognized university;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration/Management or equivalent from a recognized University;
    • A CPA(K)/ACCA qualification and membership of a relevant professional body;
    • At least 12 years post qualification experience; with a minimum of 3 years of broad financial and operations management experience;
    • Experience in development and implementation of financial systems, human resources management and change management.

    • Assess internal controls to ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, practices and systems in order to mitigate any business and operational risks;

    Risk and Compliance Manager Qualifications

    • A relevant Master’s degree from a recognized university;
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university;
    • Hold a CPA (K), CIA, CRA or equivalent qualification and membership of the relevant professional body;
    • Have at least 9 years experience, of which at least 3 should be at managerial level
