    Project Assistant: Advocacy

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead advocacy and publicity efforts to raise awareness of the network and its activities.
    • Initiate and follow through Partnerships and Linkages with organizations that align to the network
    • Champion shaping of thoughts for a funds mobilization strategy for the network
    • Initiate and follow through engagements towards Funds Mobilization to sustain the network
    • Manage the communications with partners ensuring a positive network profile in the innovation space.
    • Engage in membership drives and networking to expand the reach of the network.
    • Assist in administrative and logistical efforts for the project, ensuring smooth execution of activities.

    Person Specifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A master’s degree in international relations, Marketing, or Fundraising is desirable.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in advocacy, partnerships, or fundraising in a regional or international setting. Experience working with donor agencies or managing stakeholder relationships is essential.

    Skills:

    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute advocacy campaigns.

    Project Assistant: Capacity Development

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate the Implementation of capacity-building programs for member agencies.
    • Facilitate peer learning opportunities and knowledge exchange across the network.
    • Organize training workshops, seminars, and best practice sharing sessions.
    • Develop tools and resources to strengthen the institutional capabilities of member agencies.
    • Ensure feedback on training programs is obtained in a timely manner.
    • Track and report on the progress of capacity-building activities and monitor their impact.
    • Collaborate with partners to enhance learning and development within the network.

    Person Specifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Education or relevant field. A master’s degree in organizational development, Capacity Building, or Innovation Management is an added advantage.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in capacity building, training program management, or organizational development, preferably in the context of innovation or network-based organizations.

    Skills:

    • Strong expertise in designing and delivering training programs.
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles and capacity-building methodologies.

    • Ability to manage multiple capacity-building initiatives and adapt to evolving needs.
    • Understanding of innovation ecosystems and institutional development.

    Project Assistant: Communication

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the development and maintenance of the network web portal
    • Manage the project’s digital presence, including website content, social media, and newsletters.
    • Create and disseminate communication materials such as press releases, reports, and brochures.
    • Coordinate media relations and serve as a liaison between the project and external stakeholders.
    • Support advocacy efforts by managing digital campaigns and producing promotional content.

    Person Specifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Additional training or certification in digital marketing is an asset.
    • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in communications, digital media, or public relations, preferably in development or innovation sectors.

    Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in content creation, social media management, and website maintenance (WordPress or similar platforms).
    • Strong graphic design and multimedia skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating visual content.

    • Experience in managing media relations and communications for donor-funded projects is a plus.

    Project Assistant: Accounts and Administration

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide administrative and logistical support for the project, ensuring smooth execution of activities.
    • Draft the financial and program reporting, while Monitoring and tracking project timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
    • Assist with project documentation, including preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.
    • Track related activities across work packages and liaise with partner organizations to ensure alignment with KeNIA work package.
    • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
    • Maintain all project and facilitate communication between the network’s governance bodies and members.

    Person Specifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
    • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in project management or coordination, ideally within donor-funded or international development projects.

    Skills:

    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana) and office tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to track project progress, manage risk, and support problem-solving.
    • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is an advantage.

    Project Administrative Assistant

    Project Coordinator

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the establishment and establishment and operation of the network office
    • Oversee the implementation governance, membership and management structures, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensure smooth administrative operations and coordination across the network.
    • Coordinate governance-related meetings, including the preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
    • Provide administrative support for decision-making processes and ensure compliance with governance standards.
    • Manage reporting mechanisms and ensure compliance with governance standards and appraising of the funders.
    • Oversee the development and execution of support team roles (advocacy, partnership, fundraising, communication, reporting etc.)
    • Supervise the implementation of a framework for capacity-building programs (workshops, seminars, peer-learning) for network member agencies including needs assessment, identification of facilitators, experts, review of curriculum, toolkits, resources and management of the delivery.
    • Facilitate decision-making processes and provide support for steering committee functions.

    • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
    • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and maintain transparency.
    • Knowledge of African innovation ecosystems and governance structures is an asset.
