    Whole Youth Development Officer

    Job Summary

    Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT) is seeking a passionate and committed Whole Youth Development Officer to support the holistic development of youth trainees at RTRC. The role focuses on life skills development, psychosocial support, mentorship, career readiness, and pastoral care to help young people transition successfully into work and responsible adulthood.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and counseling to youth trainees
    • Design and deliver life-skills programs (leadership, communication, GBV, SRHR, work readiness)
    • Coordinate student clubs, peer education, and character development activities
    • Support industrial attachments, alumni engagement, and partnerships
    • Assist with student welfare, discipline, reporting, and youth-focused programs

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Community Development, Psychology, or related field
    • At least 2 years’ experience working with youth in life-skills or development programs
    • Strong facilitation, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
    • High integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to youth wellbeing
    • Willingness to live and work in a rural setting

    Deputy Principal

    Job Summary

    Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT) is seeking a qualified and hands-on Deputy Principal to support the leadership and daily operations of Rarieda Training and Resource Centre (RTRC). The role focuses on training coordination, staff supervision, student welfare, and compliance with TVET standards to ensure quality, market-relevant skills training for youth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Principal in managing academic and administrative operations
    • Coordinate training programs and supervise instructors and students
    • Ensure compliance with TVET policies, curriculum, and reporting requirements
    • Support student discipline, mentoring, and career readiness
    • Oversee training equipment, facilities, and safety standards
    • Assist in budgeting, work planning, reporting, and partnerships

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education OR a Technical Degree with a Diploma in Instructor Training
    • At least 3 years’ teaching or training experience in a secondary or post-secondary institution
    • Experience in academic administration or institutional leadership
    • Strong computer skills, especially Excel and reporting tools
    • TVET or vocational training experience is an added advantage

    Human Resource Coordinator

    Job Summary

    Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust (RWMT) is seeking an experienced HR and Operations Coordinator to manage human resource functions and oversee day-to-day administrative and operational systems. The role ensures compliance with Kenyan labour laws, efficient operations, and strong people-management practices in support of RWMT’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, contracts, performance appraisals, and staff exits
    • Manage staff records, payroll data, leave, and HR compliance
    • Handle employee relations, grievances, and staff welfare
    • Oversee office administration, facilities, fleet, security, and procurement processes
    • Support ICT operations through designated staff or consultants
    • Prepare and submit monthly HR and operations reports

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Administration, or related field
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar HR/Operations role
    • Registered member of a recognized professional body (current subscription)
    • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws
    • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools
    • NGO experience is an added advantage
