    Senior Manager, Partnerships, Product Innovation & Consulting

    What You Will Be Doing:

    Develop New Products & Take Them to Market (30%)

    • Identify new product opportunities within Partnerships and Consulting team to diversify revenue 
    • Build business cases, revenue models, and pricing strategies for new offerings
    • Test, iterate, and refine solutions based on client needs, field insights, and user feedback
    • Translate concepts into prototypes, pilots, and launch-ready offerings
    • Coordinate with product, tech, actuarial, research, and field teams to ensure feasibility and execution
    • Conduct market sizing, feasibility assessments, research, and data analysis

    Drive Revenue & Partnership Growth (25%)

    • Source, build, and manage relationships with donors, development agencies, and commercial partners such as World Bank, IFC and Gates Foundation
    • Develop and pitch grant proposals, consulting proposals, tenders, and concept notes 
    • Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships or create new ones
    • Lead business development in new markets and product verticals, delivering on annual revenue goals

    Project Execution & Research (20%)

    • Support early-stage execution of newly designed products, including pilots, proof-of-concepts, and initial client deployments, before full handover to execution or country teams
    • Flexibly support priority projects across the Partnerships and Consulting portfolio, contributing analytical, coordination, or execution capacity as needed
    • Map stakeholders, analyse partner incentives, and develop entry strategies for new geographies or products
    • Oversee end-to-end research collaborations for consulting projects, including with research institutions and third party survey providers.

    Stakeholder & Relationship Management (15%)

    • Lead strategic partner management across global institutions, aligning country, regional, and HQ priorities to unlock new partnership opportunities
    • Represent the company in meetings with donors, clients, insurers, ministries of agriculture, foundations, and multilaterals
    • Manage routine communication, follow ups, and progress reports with partners.
    • Build trust, credibility, and professional gravitas across levels of seniority

    Cross-Functional Leadership (10%)

    • Collaborate closely with commercial, product, field operations, tech, actuarial, and research teams
    • Ensure smooth execution of pilots, product launches, and consulting engagements
    • Support internal alignment, knowledge sharing, and project coordination

    What You Need to Be Successful: 

    Hard Skills

    • ~7+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, partnerships, or product development.
    • Strong entrepreneurial skills, experience designing new products and taking them from concept to launch.
    • Proven track record of delivering consulting, research, or strategy projects end-to-end.
    • Demonstrated experience generating revenue totalling at least $250k–500k from private sector, development, or NGOs
    • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong planning and time-management skills to structure complex projects from inception to delivery.
    • Detail-oriented approach that ensures accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs across proposals, reports, and presentations.

    Business Development Associate

    Responsibilities 

    Lead Generation and Outreach: 

    • Identify and qualify potential clients through research, industry events, inbound leads, referrals, and market activity. 
    • Conduct outreach via email, phone, and meetings to introduce Pula’s solutions.
    • Maintain consistent weekly activity targets to support pipeline growth.
    • Track tender websites and identifying potential opportunities for the relevant teams

    Client-Facing Document Preparation: 

    • Proposal writing - 
    • Co-develop proposal concepts through understanding and researching company experience, ecosystem trends, and innovative solutions.
    • Write and provide quality control for concept notes,  proposals, and tender responses.
    • Prepare templated pitch decks, concept notes, and proposals with guidance from the team
      • Marketing Material Development: Coordinate the creation and improvement  of sales and marketing materials, such as brochures and presentations to  support business development efforts

    Client Relations Support

    • Attend introductory meetings alongside senior commercial managers. 
    • Manage follow-up actions, client requests, and general communication.
    • Build rapport with operational and technical teams supporting the client. 
    • Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and networking events to build relationships.

    Market Intelligence

    • Gather insights on competitors, partners, and emerging opportunities. 
    • Track key industry developments and report trends to the commercial team.

    Knowledge Management: 

    • Manage database of P&C knowledge to improve communication efficiency across the team and institutional knowledge. 
    • Keep CRM entries updated with accurate contact details, meeting notes, and pipeline stages. 

    Internal Coordination:

    • Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align on commercial priorities. 
    • Support weekly team check-ins with updated activity reports.

    Qualifications: 

    • University degree with First Class or Upper Second honors 
    • 3-5 years of experience in business development, partner management, consulting, or related fields. 
    • Experience in writing proposals, concept notes, and creating budgets in response to tenders.
    • Understanding of agriculture and/or fintech sectors.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, high motivation, ownership, and willingness to learn.
    • Experience with Google suites, Excel, and CRM tools.

    Senior Manager, Underwriting & Marketing

    You will identify new business opportunities and manage or develop relationships with insurers, reinsurance brokers, and other reinsurers to expand Pula RE’s footprint across its target markets. It is a hands-on, market-facing role that will require regular travel across Pula RE’s focus regions. Team expansion will evolve in line with business growth.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Develop relationships with insurers, RI Brokers and other reinsurers to maximize opportunities and achieve profitable growth. 
    • Initiate market visits and calls to market players to identify sales opportunities and collect intelligence.
    • Achieving new business premium, renewal premium retention and monitoring rate, exposure and retention.
    • Collaborate with HoDs & senior members of broader Pula Group to develop synergies and local tactics to attract and retain business while executing Pula Re’s underwriting strategies and initiatives.
    • Within Pula Re’s guidelines and granted underwriting authority, evaluate new and renewal account information to determine risk acceptability, terms / conditions to be quoted, and pricing.
    • Make sound risk and pricing decisions that achieve profitable loss ratios. 
    • Maintain underwriting quality as per Pula Re underwriting framework. 
    • Document underwriting file to support acceptability and pricing in accordance with Pula Re guidelines. 
    • Achieve customer service standards, including established objectives for: 
    • New business quote turnaround. 
    • Renewal quotes 
    • Endorsement, cancellation, audits and other transactions.
    • Policy issuance 
    • Provide detailed issuance instructions to ensure policy is delivered consistent with quoted terms and conditions and in accordance with established guidelines relative to policy construction.
    • Review mid-term endorsement requests for acceptability and provide instructions for processing.
    • Evaluate premium/risk referrals to determine class acceptability and/or appropriateness of current exposure base. Adjust current terms with acceptable changes to ensure the company gets timely payment of adequate premium. 
    • Order and review inspections to confirm accounts written are consistent with preliminary underwriting information and act when the inspection reveals unacceptable risk characteristics. 
    • Determine if retro-facultative reinsurance is needed and if so, factor retro cost in gross pricing, complete cession procedures; documentation file and follow established workflow procedure to ensure proper reporting / accounting. 
    • Managing claims management encompassing recovery from retro partners, payouts cedants and evaluating all claim slips and related documentation.
    • Support other team members as assigned when the other underwriter is traveling or out on vacation / sick time. 
    • Building underwriting acumen of internal and external stakeholders through training and development opportunities.

    Who you are

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Business, or degree in Engineering/Technology) preferred.
    • Professional insurance certification (e.g., CII, Insurance Institute of Kenya) advantageous but not mandatory.
    • Proven success in commercial lines property, casualty, or specialty insurance, ideally within a reinsurer or reinsurance broker of repute.
    • Experience in surplus lines underwriting and retrocession treaty design highly preferred.
    • Underwriting experience in the parametric insurance sector will be beneficial.
    • Strong network and relationships across insurance and reinsurance markets in and beyond Africa.
    • Skilled in process mapping, operational efficiency, and cost management.

    Data Analyst

    • As a Data Analyst at Pula, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Associate Manager by ensuring data management and analysis, problem identification, resolution, and the implementation of department strategies. We are looking for a highly motivated and data-driven individual with strong documentation and project management skills, capable of seamlessly transitioning between strategic planning and hands-on execution.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct survey configuration and field agents allocations on the inhouse data collection tool
    • Conduct data quality checks following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Provide support to the support desk and field staff when required, ensuring effective communication.
    • Utilize data analytics and project knowledge to identify risks and issues within projects.
    • Keep the manager informed by providing regular daily, weekly, and ad-hoc updates.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, or Information Systems.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-paced NGO environment.
    • Proficiency in specialized statistical analysis software and data visualization tools like Power BI or similar platforms.
    • Proficiency in Python and R is a must. Knowledge of SQL is also preferred
    • Ability to communicate complex information effectively through clear writing and excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with mobile data collection technologies, such as Commcare,Kobo,Survey CTO and experience with new applications and innovations.
    • Capable of transforming technical data into presentations for diverse audiences.

    Senior Manager, Field Operations

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Project Delivery & Accountability: Own a portfolio of large-scale field programs across multiple countries, setting delivery strategy, resourcing models, QA thresholds, and escalation mechanisms. Hold full end-to-end accountability for scope, timelines, budget, and data quality, acting as the senior escalation point for delivery and quality trade-offs. Oversee project setup, resourcing, training, field execution, monitoring, and final data submission through Country Field Managers, proactively managing portfolio-level risks to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs that meet both client expectations and Pula’s operational standards.
    • Quality Assurance & Process Improvement: Own department-level quality outcomes, including defining QA standards, enforcing adoption, and holding senior managers accountable for results. Drive delivery quality across Field Operations by identifying systemic gaps, strengthening QA frameworks, and owning the end-to-end operationalization of SOPs across countries. Ensure QA processes are embedded in day-to-day execution through senior field leadership, rapidly diagnose root causes when adoption fails, and independently implement corrective actions to deliver sustained, scalable improvements in delivery quality.
    • People & Performance Management: Directly manage and develop Country Field Managers, providing clear direction, performance accountability, and coaching at a senior level. Indirectly lead large field teams by setting expectations, performance standards, and escalation mechanisms, and by holding country leadership accountable for capacity building, quality outcomes, and the development of high-performing, autonomous teams.
    • Client & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the senior Field Operations contact for assigned projects, owning client communication on delivery performance, risks, data quality, and scope decisions. Lead alignment on methodology, expectations, and trade-offs, and manage escalations to resolution to maintain strong, trust-based client relationships and sustained satisfaction.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior stakeholders across Insurance Operations, Data Services, Technology, and Commercial teams to align priorities, operating models, and delivery standards across the full project lifecycle. Resolve cross-functional dependencies and trade-offs to ensure seamless execution, continuous improvement, and strong internal client satisfaction.
    • Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives: Lead and own ad-hoc or department-wide initiatives, including piloting new methodologies, scaling best practices, and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency, team capacity, and delivery quality. Take full accountability from concept through implementation, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable impact, drive sustainable improvements, and integrate seamlessly with ongoing operations.

    The Right Candidate Will Have:

    • Progressive Field Operations Leadership: 8+ years of experience in field operations, data collection, or large-scale service delivery, including at least 3 years in a senior management role with responsibility for teams of managers and cross-country delivery outcomes.
    • Large-Scale Data Collection (500,000+): Demonstrated success in delivering repeated, high-volume data collection programs (e.g., farmer registration, yield measurement, household surveys, polygon mapping), with ownership of standardization, QA consistency, and portfolio-level performance oversight.
    • Field Team/ Agent Network Leadership (5,000+): Proven experience building, mobilizing, and managing large-scale agent/enumerator networks of 5,000+, including recruitment, training, deployment planning, performance management, and escalation management across multiple geographies.
    • Quality Assurance & Operational Excellence: Expertise in designing, implementing, and monitoring QA frameworks, ensuring data integrity and operational standards are consistently met. Track record of identifying systemic gaps, designing practical solutions, and embedding continuous improvement at scale.
    • Financial & Operational Acumen: Experience in budget ownership, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis, coupled with a focus on operational efficiency, high-quality delivery, and portfolio-level cost accountability.
    • Collaboration & Cross-Cultural Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multicultural, multidisciplinary, and senior stakeholders, driving alignment, collaboration, and high-quality results across teams and geographies.
