    Projects Control Officer

     

    About the Role:

    BURN is seeking an experienced, exceptionally organised person to take on the role of a Projects Control Officer. The Employee will play a pivotal role in project management, overseeing various aspects of project planning, execution, and closure, with a specific focus on cross-functional teams and projects across the organization under the Project Management Office (PMO).

    You will work together with Project Managers to ensure cost efficiency and adherence to budget for assigned projects. You will be responsible for developing and managing project budgets, analyzing costs, identifying, and mitigating financial risks, and providing insightful reports to stakeholders.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Project Budget Development and Maintenance:

    • Develop and maintain the project budget.
    • Audit items to be delivered under projects.
    • Review weekly and monthly time tracking reports for irregularities.
    • Ensure proper approval of invoices before payment.
    • Record drawdowns accurately.
    • Maintain ongoing cost-to-complete forecasts.

    Full Reconciliation of Project Budget:

    • Regularly compare actual expenses with the budgeted amounts.
    • Look for discrepancies, inconsistencies, or unexpected variations.
    • Investigate any deviations promptly to understand their root causes.

    Project documentation:

    • Organize project documentation, approvals, and correspondence.
    • Maintain records of drawdowns, spreadsheets, and meeting minutes.
    • Compile monthly status reports and manage third-party contracts.

    Project Team Support and Collaboration:

    • Represent all relevant areas on the project team.
    • Maintain project momentum despite conflicting priorities.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers to define goals, objectives, and scope, emphasizing cost implications.

    Cost Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Track project expenditures against the budget.
    • Identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
    • Analyse financial data and prepare regular cost performance reports.
    • Mitigate cost risks and recommend process improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with cost terms in project contracts.

    Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, business administration, or Project Management preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Controller, accounting, or related role.
    • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g. Agile, Hybrid & predictive Framework).
    • Proficient in financial modelling and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
    • Strong understanding of accounting with Business / Finance acumen.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • ACCA / CPA and CAPM/PRINCE2 certifications are highly desirable.
    • Experience with an ERP or Accounting systems.
    • Strong understanding of the EVM in project management.

    Counterfeit Enforcement Manager

     

    About the Role:

    Burn is looking for a Counterfeit Enforcement Manager who will play a pivotal role in developing and executing counterfeit enforcement strategies on a global scale to ensure all our core brands and intellectual property rights are protected across all our commercial markets.

    In this role, the Counterfeit Enforcement Manager will be responsible for implementing and overseeing strategies to identify, investigate, and combat counterfeit activities related to our organization's intellectual property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for protecting the integrity of our brand.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Proactively collaborate with commercial teams in various domestic markets and implement surveillance programs to monitor online and offline channels for potential counterfeit activities.
    • Enforcing intellectual property rights, collaborating with enforcement authorities, establishing relationships with customs officials, and staying abreast of brand enforcement practices across all our key commercial markets.
    • Conduct thorough investigations into reported incidents of counterfeiting, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
    • Use investigative techniques to identify and track counterfeit products or activities.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials and consultations with anti-counterfeit agencies, port authorities, regulatory authorities and police agencies in different markets to reduce the presence of counterfeit enforcement.
    • Proactively conducting brand awareness training with customs and port officials to intercept illegal shipments of counterfeit products.
    • Collaborate with government agencies to provide expertise, insights, and recommendations on counterfeit enforcement matters.
    • Coordinate with commercial and legal teams to gather necessary data and insights to inform well-rounded and impactful responses to an influx of counterfeit in the market.
    • Conversant with intellectual property, and anti-counterfeit laws to identify potential infringement actions.
    • Work closely with the commercial and legal team to initiate legal actions against counterfeiters and provide necessary evidence for litigation.
    • Coordinate with the legal team to proactively register any intellectual property rights that may support a wider scope of enforcement options.
    • Ability to write white papers that showcase regional thought leadership in nascent legal markets where intellectual property laws are yet to be formulated.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Proven enforcement track record with at least five (5) years’ experience successfully enforcing intellectual property rights in multiple markets property rights with a strong track record of engagement with government bodies, ability to engage with port authorities, customs officials, anti-counterfeit agencies and other stakeholders.
    • Relevant degree in enforcement, law or related fields.
    • Good understanding of government structures at local, national, and international levels facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
    • Familiarity with the legislative processes and decision-making mechanisms related to counterfeit enforcement.
    • Demonstrated track record of cultivating and maintaining relationships with government officials and relevant decision-makers.
    • Collaboration with Commercial Teams across the market to understand brands currently in the market, who are bringing in counterfeit stoves.
    • Ability to represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and government-related events.

    Call Centre Representative - Kenya

    About the role

    Burn is looking for an exceptional, efficient Customer Service Agent to fill the role. The successful candidate must have experience in customer-facing tasks such as customer care, direct sales and or client relation management.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage outbound and inbound calls phone calls. 
    • For Outbound – Achieving the daily calls and verification target. 
    • For Inbound – Achieving AHT Targets, SLA Target, Call Abandoned targets and CSAT Targets (Q.A Score) 
    • Ensure 100% follow-up for all dropped/Abandoned calls, tickets& any other Escalations within 24hrs.
    • For Digital Care – Observing SLAs for handling all customer Issues in all digital platforms Customer should receive feedback at a maximum of 25min Post escalation. 
    • Attending All Pre-shifts, Weekly Performance reviews, Coaching and Training Sessions 
    • Adherence to call procedure and auto-fail parameters. 
    • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.

    BURN is seeking an experienced, and exceptionally organized person to take on the role of Expansion assistant. The Expansion assistant will work to organize and document all engineering expansion activities and ensure that it is completed promptly.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinating with all engineering and operations teams to prepare and deliver the needed reports for engineering expansion activities.
    • Maintaining and updating the established expansion plans, and Gantt charts.
    • Document control and keeping of all expansion activities documents.
    • Conduct and lead engineering activities updates meetings.
    • Organize, and execute communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Support the standardization activities by organizing and documenting the current and new engineering SOPs.
    • General admin work as instructed by the manager.
