    Manager Industrial Statistics

    Ref: KNBS/MIS/9/2022 

    • No. of Positions: 2 

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Industrial Statistics, the jobholder will be responsible for implementing activities in the Industrial Statistics Division. 

    Key responsibilities 

    • Participating in data collection and analysis pertaining to industrial statistics; 
    • Collecting and analyzing data on Survey of Industrial Production (SIP) and Census of Industrial Production (CIP); 
    • Conducting Business Expectations Enquiry Survey (BEE); 
    • Participating in the compilation of Leading Economic Indicators Report; 
    • Participating in the collection and compilation of statistics on building and construction; 
    • Participating in the production of Producer Price Indices; 
    • Participating in the production of industrial data for the National Accounts; 
    • Preparing reports on SIP, CIP and Economic Survey on manufacturing, building and construction; 
    • Producing Annual Statistical Abstract Tables related to mining and 
    • quarrying, water, manufacturing and Building and construction; 
    • Liaising with data producers and suppliers on statistics; 
    • Responding to data requests; 
    • Preparing sectional work plans and related budgets; 
    • Implementing performance management activities; 
    • Supervising and managing staff within the Section; 
    • Undertaking any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 

    Requirements for Appointment 

    • Must have served in the grade of Assistant Manager, Statistics (Level 5) or equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
    • Must have a Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Statistics; Mathematics; Economics or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must have a Master Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Statistics; Mathematics; Economics or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) 
    • lasting not less than six (6) weeks or related qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must have a Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must have Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; 
    • Must have analytical, financial and human resource management skills; 
    • Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment. 

    Monthly Remuneration: 

    • Basic Salary: Kshs. 133,260 - Kshs. 189,960

    Manager, Food Monitoring, Nutrition and Environment Statistics

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food Monitoring, Nutrition and Environment Statistics, the jobholder will be responsible for planning and implementing activities in the Food Monitoring, Nutrition and Environment Statistics Division. 
     
    Key responsibilities 

    • Collecting, compiling, analyzing and disseminating statistics on Food, Nutrition and Environment; 
    • Producing the Economic Survey report on Environment and Natural resources; 
    • Participating in the production of the Statistical Abstract tables on Environment and Natural Resources; 
    • Participating in producing of subject specific reports on food insecurity and nutrition; 
    • Responding to data requests on food monitoring, nutrition, environment statistics and requests for SDGs/SDIs; 
    • Producing food security indicators in the Leading Economic Indicators (LEI) Report; 
    • Maintaining and updating the Kenya Information (Ken Info) database; 
    • Collaborating with stakeholders in planning surveys, collecting and compiling 
    • statistics on Food, Nutrition and environment; 
    • Preparing sectional work plans and related budgets; 
    • Implementing performance management activities; 
    • Supervising and managing staff within the Section;

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Senior Manager, Labour and Price Statistics, the jobholder will be responsible for planning and implementing activities in the Labour and Price Statistics Division. 
     
    Key responsibilities 

    • Collecting, analyzing, generating, maintaining databases and disseminating 
    • Labour Statistics on employment and unemployment;  
    • Participating in the production of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and inflation rates; 
    • Compiling Harmonized Consumer Price Indices (COMESA & EAC); 
    • Compiling International Comparison Prices; 
    • Participating in the production of data on Leading Economic Indicators; 
    • Participating in market prices survey for commonly used goods and services; 
    • Collecting and compiling farm gate prices; 
    • Participating in the generation of Labour Productivity statistics; 
    • Participating in the production of real estate price statistics; 
    • Participating in the production of Economic Survey report on employment and earnings;

    Supply Chain Management Officer

    Job Purpose: 
    Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Management, the jobholder will be responsible for implementing activities in the Supply Chain Management Division. 

    Key responsibilities 

    • Taking Stock of stores inventory; 
    • Developing annual procurement and disposal plans; 
    • Maintaining and updating the asset register; 
    • Preparing Local Purchase and Local Service Orders; 
    • Preparing contract documents; 
    • Carrying out procurement, market survey and research; 
    • Preparing tender documents and processing advertisement of tenders; opening Tenders; 
    • Short-listing and registering suppliers; 
    • Providing secretariat services to supply chain management committees

    Requirements for Appointment 

    • Must have a Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines:- 
    • Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution;  
    • Must have a Diploma in Supply Chain Management from the Chartered 
    • Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) - Final or related qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must be a Member of the Kenya Institute of Supply Management (KISM) or 
    • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); 
    • Must have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; 
    • Must have a Valid Practicing Certificate in Supply Chain Management from 
    • Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other recognized institution; 
    • Must have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; 
    • Must have analytical, financial and human resource management skills;

    Monthly Remuneration:

    Accounts Assistants

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Accountant, the jobholder will be responsible for undertaking activities in the Finance Division. 
     
    Key responsibilities 

    • Preparing payment and surrender vouchers; 
    • Filing of accounting support documents; 
    • Managing surrender vouchers ; 
    • Processing Imprests; 
    • Drawing receipt vouchers for refund of cash by imprest holders; 
    • Managing petty cash; 
    • Posting entries in the vote book; 
    • Capturing the Appropriation in Aid revenue on a daily basis;   
    • Undertaking any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 

    Requirements for Appointment 

    • A pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) or Part II of ACCA 
    • Examination or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

    Human Resource Assistant

    Job Purpose: 
    Reporting to the Human Resource Officer, the jobholder will be responsible for undertaking activities in the Human Resource Division. 
     
    Key responsibilities 

    • Updating and maintaining recruitment and selection documents; 
    • Verifying information related to appointments, transfers and promotions. 
    • Processing payroll data; 
    • Processing retirement benefits, Medical claims, and Group Personal Accidents and Group Life schemes; 
    • Processing leave applications; 
    • Verifying and updating staff complement and establishment; 
    • Undertaking any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 

    Requirements for Appointment 

    • Must have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Human Resource Management; Business Administration or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution; 
    • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institute. 

    Monthly Remuneration:

    Basic Salary: Kshs. 46,500 - Kshs. 70,500
    House Allowance: Kshs. 8,000
    Commuter Allowance: Kshs. 8,000
