    Chief Financial Officer

    The CFO is a multi-disciplinary full time role that demands diverse skills as listed in the below additional responsibilities:

    Strategy, Planning and Management

    • Act as strategic business partner to the CEO by assisting in formulating the company's future strategic direction and supporting medium-term tactical initiatives
    • Ownership of firm-wide corporate annual and periodic financial planning to drive achievements of stakeholder objectives
    • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with regard to short, medium and long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term, medium and long-term growth plan of Organization.
    • Create and establish sound capital structure and cash management financial objectives that align with the company's plan for growth and expansion.

    Financial Planning & Analysis and Reporting

    • Develop and implement a sound financial model that captures current and future states of the Pezesha business model
    • Work with COO to develop pathway for firm-wide targets by constructing and driving KPI achievement across cross-functional teams
    • Work with Finance Controller to drive and maintain annual and periodic company operating and liquidity cash flow budget
    • Work with Data Science Manager to drive optimisation of credit scoring models in line with target loss rate across the different Pezesha credit portfolios
    • Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) on compliance reporting
    • Work with Collections Lead and Finance Controller to drive optimisation of the Pezesha Balance Sheet provisions in line with the target provisions number
    • Work with COO to drive optimisation of credit product pricing strategies across the different credit portfolio
    • Present to the CEO periodic financial statement, key financial metrics and cash flow budgeting reports
    • Develop and maintain control process that enables on-schedule delivery of financial reports

    Treasury Management

    • Ownership of the firm’s asset-liability management by designing and executing process matching with stated corporate goals across the credit business and software business units
    • Drive optimal operating and lending cash flow management strategy across local and foreign exchange exposures, including identifying appropriate and practical hedging products in relation to the Pezesha financial model
    • Drive optimal leverage structure in relation to the strength and size of the Pezesha Balance sheet

    Fund Raise & Investor Relations

    • Represent Pezesha in all equity and debt cash flow raise and reporting communication to all investors
    • Work with CEO and COO and CCO to develop a compelling value proposition and key communication for future fund raise as well as existing investors
    • Identify, reach-out and pitch to prospective investors and manage the related processes to deal closure
    • Build investor confidence in the company's vision to deliver shareholder value through a comprehensive Investor relations framework and strategy
    • Provide market insights to the management team, including financial trends, investor concerns, competitor actions, and anything that might impact the firm valuation
    • Oversee communication & reporting of financial results to investors through comprehensive MIS.

    The Successful Applicant

    The successful candidate needs to have the following experience

    Must have

    • At least 7 years experience in financial advisory at a Tier 1 Management consulting firm, Investment Bank or Series A lending Fintech
    • Demonstrated financial services financial modeling and treasury management experience
    • Education: At least a Masters in Financial Economics in a top tier educational institution
    • Track record of leadership capabilities with strong problem-solving skills, high stakes communication skills, series A equity and debt fundraising experience and managing young and multicultural teams

    Business Development Associate

    Ref: 2023-Business Development Associate

    Role summary:

    We are looking for experienced Business Development Associates to join our team in driving growth and scale across all our portfolios, Pezesha 2.0 platform and business development to ensure commercial success whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients/partners, ensuring delivery of high – quality service and retention. He/she will build our market growth by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. The successful candidate will be required to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Primary responsibilities as:

    • Acquisition, leads generation and on boarding of new partners and retention of existing ones
    • Designing and executing on the business development and scale strategy, sales operations and scaling our Pezesha 2.0 platform
    • Development and growth of the business through building B2B relationships in the industry, identifying opportunities, and closing business deals
    • Lead the entire business development cycle from on boarding, contract negotiations, integrations to successfully launching with new partners and post engagement activities and monitoring
    • Own the entire proposal and sales process: identify customer's needs through discovery calls, develop and design the product (s) based on partner’s business context, pitch to the partner and activate the deal
    • Have a deep understanding of all companies products and services to be able to market strategically at the same time boost company’s brand awareness by working closely with the marketing and growth team
    • Carrying out necessary planning and development in order to implement ongoing operational changes that continue to improve how the company operates internally and with external partners
    • Coordinating sales forecasts, pipeline and keeping a close eye on customer/partner accounts through data driven approaches and tools.
    • Attend strategic meetings and events on behalf of the company
    • Periodically doing a competitive analysis and market research to ensure the company is competitive in its value addition and keeps up with market trends and opportunities.
    • Collaborates with growth team to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on portfolio management and retention

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • At least 3 years of proven work experience in a Business Development, or Commercial or B2B Sales or similar role
    • Bachelor Degree in Business or Operations or Marketing or a related field

    Credit Collections Lead

    Ref: 2023-Credit Collections Lead

    As a Credit Collections Lead, you will be expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s collections department across all markets. You will oversee a team of individuals to achieve the following performance metrics designed to maintain the Pezesha portfolio quality at all times by ensuring;

    1. Customers pay as at when due
    2. High recovery rates on late loans
    3. Credit product and scoring iteration from customers feedback
    4. Resolution of reconciliation issues
    5. Maintain high degree of efficiency within the collections team

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage the PAR buckets collections process across all operational markets by ensuring the implementation of collections processes and policies and monitoring the performance of the collections team across all operational markets
    • Identify and manage collections transition stages across NPL and write offs
    • Design periodic experiments to achieve portfolio quality targets with the data team
    • Monitor qualitative trends in not due portfolio to identify potential risk factors
    • Manage external debt collectors to achieve stated collections targets
    • Collaborate with In-house legal to pursue claims on defaulted collateralised clients
    • Maintain weekly reporting on PAR transitions across different buckets and underlying repayment behavior
    • Manage customer feedback loop and ensuring implementation of results to improve customer service, loan products and credit scoring
    • Ensure resolution of reconciliation issues between the collection team, the finance team and the tech team
    • Collaborate with Data and Finance team to iterate credit risk policy, especially to ascertain provisions staging of loan receivables and write-off of Stage 3 impaired assets
    • Directly managing key customer accounts as assigned by the COO
    • Recommending ways to improve collections processes to management

    The skills you’ll bring include:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 6 (Six) years of commercial banking credit portfolio management experience, preferably within a post-seed Fintech
    • Must have owned and demonstrated a continuous process improvement KPIs in the last 3 (three) years of work experience
    • Must have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Experience in assessing a business’s financial performance and key risk indicators, managing credit lines, identifying credit solutions
