    Director of Finance and Strategy

    About the position
    Reporting to the Managing Director, this position has the mandate of achieving effectiveness and efficiency in financial resource management, investments and enhancing accountability in resources utilisation for financial sustainability.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Formulate the company’s financial strategy and ensure proper implementation.
    • Ensure sound corporate governance through proper controls and risk management.
    • Develop, implement, maintain and review sound financial policies, systems and procedures.
    • Coordinate setting of performance targets and evaluation for the respective line managers.
    • Ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting in compliance with the company requirements and accounting standards.
    • Advise the company on financial viability of proposed investments and funding strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
    • Oversee the implementation and performance of an effective integrated Accounting System.

    Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting or relevant Business-related field from a recognised University.
    • Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognised University.
    • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) or equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning.
    • Registered member of a relevant Professional Body.
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience, at least five (5) of which should be at senior management level.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Strong management, leadership and negotiation skills.
    • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    Executive Director

    Key responsibilities

    • Drive the vision, strategy, and innovative thinking at the Hospital
    • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to the Senior Management Team in order to facilitate the achievement of the Hospital’s vision, mission and values
    • Initiate, co-ordinate and participate in the conceptualization and development of the Hospital’s strategic plan.

    • Actively participate in community activities and ensure the hospital and the community are integrated to a harmonious co-existence.

    Person specifications

    • Must be a practicing Christian willing to adhere to, abide by and sign the Statement of Faith of A.I.C Kenya.
    • Master’s in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or any other related field as a minimum.
    • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
    • Must have knowledge and experience of not less than fifteen (15) years of leadership and management in a comparable organization. Experience in healthcare leadership and management will be an added advantage.
    • Must be visionary with ability to drive change and transformation in an organization
    • Must have experience working with Boards and have a clear understanding of corporate governance.
    • Should be able to articulate and inculcate the organization’s vision, mission and core values to the hospital’s stakeholders

    Technical Director

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensuring that all Water and Sewerage services infrastructure is operated and maintained to required standards.
    • Ensure that water is treated and distributed.
    • Taking responsibility for collecting and treating resultant wasted and ensure safe disposal.
    • Ensuring proper management of the company’s investment in Plant and Machinery.
    • To ensure that the Directorate’s operations/activities are executed in an environmentally friendly manner.
    • To execute the Directorate operations in a universally accepted Quality Management Systems for the sustenance of ISO certification.

    • Liaise with Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) in the Infrastructure Development.
    • Provide strategic and technical leadership in the performance of the Technical Directorate.
    • Support managers to ensure quality and timely outputs from their respective departments.
    • Ensure the technical audits are carried out on time and necessary actions are taken.
    • Ensure provision of quality water to domestic, commercial and industrial customers i.e. to customers and stakeholders.
    • Ensure proper treatment and disposal of sewage in accordance with legal and company provisions.
    • Ensure compliance with standards and procedures for the acquisition, operation and maintenance of technical works.
    • Ensure that all Water and Sewerage services infrastructure is operated and maintained to the required standards.
    • Provide technical expertise and advise in the acquisition of contractors and consultants for major works.

    Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University.
    • Master’s Degree in Civil/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognised University.
    • A Master’s Degree in Business Management will be an added advantage.
    • Must be a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or equivalent.
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in a similar role in a large organisation.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Go getter capable of providing generation compliant technical solutions to the company’s critical functions to boost efficiency, reliability and timely delivery of service.
    • Experience in drafting and working under performance contracts.
    • Possession of skills in productivity improvement, project contracting and management.
    • Experience in budget planning and execution.
    • Exceptional communication skills are essential in order to explain complex Technical related issues to non-technical colleagues.
    • In-depth experience of negotiating with and managing third parties.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
