To manage its rapid growth, the company is looking for a dynamic and hardworking individual with strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills to join the team in the Finance Department. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to wotk in a fast paced learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Documenting the accounting process to capture the SPVs business model.
2. Maintain accurate and up to date intercompany balance schedules between the entities in the group.
3. Daily, weekly and monthly general ledger vouching to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
4. Ensure subsidiary books are reconciled at all times (trade receivables, trade payables and inventory).
5. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support business decision making.
6. Prepare schedules for all accounts in the general ledger for entities under management.
7. Ensure book keeping is accurate and postings are done in the system based on approved source documents and as per accounting policy.
8. Responsible for monthly and annual financial reporting and provide analysis for the management accounts for board reporting.
9. Responsible for tax and other regulatory compliance as per requirements. These includes PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, NITA, VAT and WHT.
10. Continuously identify areas of policy and operational improvement in the firm, to enhance business performance.
11. Lead, train and assist members within a team environment.
12. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

1. CPA (K) and/or ACCA and Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related degree.
2. KCSE B+ and above.
3. Three (3) years working experience in a Finance environment.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Good analytical skills and deadlines conscious with minimum supervision.
6. Ability to easily adapt to dynamic, complex and rapidly changing finance and business environment.
7. Ability to learn, train and work in a team environment.

The individuals will handle various aspects of Public Markets, Alternative Investments (Real Estate Research, Real Estate Investments and Private Equity)

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conducting fundamental company & investment opportunity research and analysis, in Real Estate, Private Equity, Structured Products, Equities & Fixed Income
2. Financial modelling and data analysis
3. Analysing historical and projected financial statements & investment data
4. Authoring original investments research
5. Preparing written reports and verbal presentations
6. Conducting country, industry and capital markets research
7. Participating in the evaluation, formulation and implementation of investment strategies
8. Contributing in investment meetings and review sessions
9. Conduct industry and customer analyses on behalf of the Investment and business development teams
10. Work with clients to develop a financial plan as the basis of providing sound financial advice
11. Prepare the relevant presentations for events
12. Comply with all corporate policies and procedures
13. Any other duties as may be prescribed from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

1. The ideal candidate should have a minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent
2. Minimum of a B+ in KCSE or equivalent
3. Sufficient progress towards professional qualifications in finance/investments e.g. CIFA/CFA or be a registered student and actively pursuing the CFA, CIFA, CPA or CAIA qualifications
4. Excellent analytical skills and quantitative ability
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great accuracy, organization, attention to detail and follow-through
6. Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion with minimal directions
7. Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and distill the most important takeaways to guide next steps
