    Maintenance Engineer (Assistant Manager Engineering)

    Job purpose

    • Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Maintenance Engineer will manage the maintenance and repairs of all company’s machines.

    Key responsibilities

    •  Develop and implement maintenance schedules in all New KCC locations.
    •  Formulate and implement policies and procedures for the maintenance section in the Engineering department.
    •  Prepare, implement, and control maintenance budget line for all relevant locations.
    •  Manage the sections daily activities including maintaining and repairing the company’s facilities, plants, and equipment.
    •  Preparing monthly reports to the Head of Engineering and advice on maintenance status of all company facilities, plants, and equipment.
    •  Provide advice on service and project contracts for external service providers.
    •  Ensuring that service level agreements are adhered to by external contractors.

    Person Specifications

    •  At least ten (10) years working experience of which five (5) years’ must have been in management position.
    •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, production engineering, Project Management, or any other related field.
    •  Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or any other related field.
    •  Professional qualification and membership to the institution of Engineers or any other recognized body.
    •  Management course lasting not less four (4) weeks.
    •  Merit and ability as shown in work performance.
    •  Working knowledge of an ERP system.

    Factory Manager (Assistant Manager Production)

    Job purpose

    • Reports to the Head of Production, the Factory Manager will be responsible for ensuring production and delivery of products specific to the New KCC factory to meet sales requirement through effective planning and management of the factory resources for efficient production and smooth processes.

    Key responsibilities

    •  Overseeing the administrative and technical aspects of the different sections in the factory.
    •  Allocating duties and instructing the supervisors in the various sections.
    •  Reviewing, approving, and advising on internal reports from the various sections.
    •  Approving all accounting and internal control documentation.
    •  Advising the Head of Production on key issues that impact the production function in the specific factory.
    •  Assessing and appraising the performance of factory management staff.
    •  Preparing the factory budget for management.
    •  Ensuring production targets specific to the factory are achieved.
    •  Ensuring production controls on raw materials, packaging materials and utilities.
    •  Acting as NKCC’s representative in charge of affairs within the defined region of operation.
    •  Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

    Person Specifications

    •  A minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work experience and at least four (4) years in a supervisory role in comparable and relevant position.
    •  Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Food Science and technology, Dairy technology, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
    •  Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Management, Business Management or equivalent qualification from recognized institution is an added advantage.
    •  Proficiency in computer applications.
    •  Demonstrated results in work performance.
    •  Good communication skills.

    Assistant Factory Manager (Principal Production Officer)

    Job purpose

    • Reports to the Factory Manager, Assistant Factory Manager will be responsible for assisting the Factory manager in managing and coordinating all the activities within a factory to ensure production and delivery of products through effective planning and management of the production resources for smooth efficient production processes.

    •  A minimum period of eight (8) years in relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in supervisory role in a position in the Public Service or Private Sector.
    •  Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
    •  Bachelor’s degree in food science and technology, Dairy technology, or Equivalent qualifications.
    •  Proficiency in computer applications.
    •  Good Communication skills.
    •  Demonstrated results in work performance.

    Quality Assurance Officer (Principal Quality Assurance Officer)

    Job purpose

    • Reports to the Head of Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all products are manufactured in accordance with the set standards by overseeing and monitoring all the stages of the production process.

    Key responsibilities

    •  Initiating the development of quality assurance policies and procedures.
    •  Coordinating the implementation of the risk management policy.
    •  Reviewing reports from the risk champions regarding the nature and extent of risks in their business activities.
    •  Coordinating the implementation of quality assurance standards.
    •  Reviewing the implementation and efficiency of quality assurance standards and quality management systems.
    •  Preparing reports and communicating outcomes of quality activities.
    •  Managing internal audits and other quality assurance activities, documenting nonconformities and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
    •  Coordinating the collection, compilation, and analysis of data to identify areas for
    •  improvement in the quality Management system.
    •  Identifying training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
    •  Coordinating and supporting on-site audits conducted by external providers and evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions.
    •  Ensuring compliance with quality Management systems and regulatory requirements.
    •  Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

    Person Specifications

    •  Have bachelor’s degree in food science and technology or Dairy Technology from a recognized Institution.
    •  Master’s degree in food science and technology /Dairy Technology or relevant is an added advantage.
    •  Have eight (8) years relevant work experience with at least three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
    •  Be proficient in computer applications.
    •  Demonstrate competence in work performance.
