    Design Engineer(Solar)

    Job Description

    • As a Solar Design Engineer you will play a key role in developing and implementing solar energy projects.Leveraging your engineering and renewable energy expertise, you will design efficient, cost-effective solar systems that meet customer needs, technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct site assessments and gather data — solar irradiance, shading analysis, structural considerations, and electrical requirements — to inform system design.
    • Receive leads from Sales and business development teams, gather client requirements, and prepare accurate, timely commercial and technical proposals.
    • Develop plans for solar energy system deployment, including monitoring and evaluation activities.
    • Use CAD software and simulation/modeling tools to produce detailed system layouts — panel arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical wiring diagrams.
    • Perform engineering calculations and simulations (yield, string sizing, losses, ROI) to optimize performance, energy output, and cost-effectiveness in line with industry standards.
    • Design and specify battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid inverter configurations where required by client load profiles.
    • Collaborate with sales, project management, procurement, and installation teams to develop comprehensive proposals and technical documentation.
    • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle — design, planning, installation, commissioning, and post-project evaluation.
    • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in solar PV and energy storage to drive innovation.
    • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and site visits to explain design concepts and address technical inquiries.
    • Support EPRA licensing, permitting, and compliance documentation for projects.
    • Any other related duties as required from time to time.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in solar PV system design and engineering, preferably including commercial, industrial, or utility-scale projects.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or equivalent) and PV design/simulation tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, PVCase, or PV*SOL.
    • Working knowledge of solar PV technology, system components, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical principles, and performance factors.
    • Familiarity with relevant standards and codes — NEC, IEEE, IEC — as well as Kenyan building codes, EPRA regulations, and permitting requirements.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on quality.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers.
    • Valid EPRA T3 License (required).
    • Professional Engineer (PE) registration, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/Graduate Engineer status with the Engineers Board of Kenya, is an added advantage.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites and customer locations as needed.
    • Valid driving license is an added advantage.

    Lead Installer(Solar)

    Job Description

    • As Lead Installer, you will oversee and directly participate in the on-site installation of solar PV systems — from mounting structures and panel arrays through to electrical wiring, inverter/battery connections, and commissioning. You will lead a team of installers and technicians, ensuring every project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the quality and safety standards our customers expect.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and supervise a team of solar installers and technicians on-site, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient, safe execution of installation work.
    • Interpret system design drawings, single-line diagrams, and site layouts prepared by the design engineering team, and translate them into accurate on-site installation.
    • Install and oversee installation of mounting structures, solar panel arrays, inverters, batteries/BESS units,combiner boxes, and associated electrical wiring in line with approved designs.
    • Conduct pre-installation site checks to confirm structural readiness, roof/ground conditions, and access requirements ahead of mobilization.
    • Ensure all installations comply with EPRA regulations, national electrical codes, manufacturer specifications, and the clients safety standards.
    • Carry out system testing, commissioning, and fault-finding, including string testing, earthing/grounding checks, and inverter configuration.
    • Maintain accurate installation records, checklists, and handover documentation for each project, and report progress to the Project Manager and Design Engineer.
    • Manage on-site tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring proper handling, storage, and reconciliation against project bills of materials.
    • Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures on site, including working-at-height and electrical safety protocols.
    • Coach, mentor, and train junior installers and technicians to build team capability and consistency in workmanship.
    • Liaise with clients on-site to address installation-related queries and ensure a professional customer experience.
    • Support post-installation troubleshooting, warranty callbacks, and maintenance visits as required.
    • Any other related duties as may be required from time to time.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
    • Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience installing solar PV systems, including at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
    • Strong practical knowledge of PV system components — panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries/BESS, combiner boxes, and balance-of-system wiring.
    • Solid understanding of electrical installation practices, earthing/grounding, and relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEE, IEC) as well as Kenyan building and electrical codes.
    • Valid EPRA T2 License (required); EPRA T3 License an added advantage.
    • Working knowledge of health & safety practices for electrical and rooftop/working-at-height installation work; OSHA/NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification an advantage.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and installation schedules.
    • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to keep installation crews organized and motivated on site.
    • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, engineers, and project managers.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites across the country, including remote locations.
    • Valid driving license is an added advantage.

    Requirements

    Experience

    • Minimum 10 years' experience in property operations, hospitality, facilities management,customer experience, residential community management, or related sectors.
    • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations.
    • Experience managing large residential communities, hospitality operations, mixed-use developments, or lifestyle-focused real estate portfolios.

    Heavy Structural Steel Project Coordinator

    Job Purpose

    • The Heavy Structural Steel Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering structural steel projects from contract award through fabrication, delivery, erection, and final handover. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards while serving as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the execution of structural steel projects, including fabrication, logistics, site erection, and handover.
    • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely project delivery.
    • Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Monitor project costs, manage variations, claims, and contractual documentation, and report commercial risks.
    • Review structural drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
    • Coordinate material procurement and delivery to support fabrication and installation schedules.

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • Minimum 7–10 years' experience managing heavy structural steel projects within the structural steel fabrication or construction industry.
    • Must have experience delivering projects such as factories, warehouses, industrial plants, commercial buildings, PVC Installations and other structural steel works.
    • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction methodologies.
    • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, and multiple stakeholders.

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Ability to interpret structural and fabrication drawings.
    • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, welding, erection, and quality control.
    • Good understanding of construction contracts, project planning, cost control, and risk management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; experience with AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar software is an advantage.
    • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
