    Finance Manager, Investment Banking

    The Position: Reporting to the Head of Brokerage, the role holder will be responsible for preparation of management and financial reports, enhance internal controls whilst ensuring compliance with the IFRS, Taxation Act and regulatory guidelines as outlined by Capital Markets Authority.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare the monthly financial performance and the accompanying analysis for the Investment Banking Business.
    • Prepare the quarterly financial reports for consolidation by the Group ensuring they comply with the relevant regulations and in accordance to the Group timelines.
    • Prepare strategic financial plans, including the budgets and forecasts by collaborating with the Head of Brokerage. Monitor budgets against targets, and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
    • Coordinate audits by internal auditors, external auditors, Capital Markets Authority inspectors, and KRA officials. To follow up all issues raised in audits and inspections reports and resolve them
    • Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS, Companies Act, Taxation Act and CMA guidelines.
    • Ensure all regulatory returns and any other information requested by the regulator is correctly compiled and submitted on time.
    • Ensure integrity of the general ledger through daily review and analysis and ensure that all Bank accounts and the relevant suspense are reconciled periodically.
    • To validate and approve all payments related to the business in line with the laid down authorization limits and timings.
    • Ensure Continuous monitoring and recovery of current brokerage debtors.
    • Ensuring that there are adequate internal control procedures to minimize loss of income or misuse of company assets, and that all the set procedures are adhered to.
    • Manage the completion of all regular daily, weekly, monthly reporting with all associated commentaries including; month end actuals and forecasts/plan, for multiple key stakeholders (incl. Exec Committee, Board, custodians, Fund managers, Regulators; CBK,CMA) Ensure there is integrity of the data and consistency of format prior to delivery to stakeholders.

    The Person:

    In order to be considered for the above position all applicants should have the following:-

    • University Degree in a business related field from a recognized university. A Masters in any relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • The person must be a qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
    • At least 3-4 years management experience in a busy Investment Banking/ Brokerage environment, 2 of which should be in Financial and Management reporting.
    • Knowledge and hands on experience in Oracle Financials will be an added advantage.
    • Sound knowledge of CMA guidelines and Kenyan Tax laws.
    • Should have a thorough knowledge of Investment Banking industry practice, products and services.
    • Understanding of IFRS/IAS and accounting principles.
    • Excellent planning, problem solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent report writing skills.
    • Knowledge and hands on experience in office automation tools.

    Transactor, Debt Capital Markets

    The Position: Reporting to the Managing Director & Head of Investment Banking, the role holder will primarily be responsible for leading and managing execution of signed debt capital markets transactions.

     

    They will also be required to originate advisory mandates for debt capital market transactions.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Work with the Managing Director & Head of Investment Banking to originate debt capital markets transactions in Kenya and across the East African region.
    • Drive the expansion of the investment banking business by identifying and developing new areas of growth.
    • In conjunction with the corporate banking team leverage off the bank’s customer base in order to originate debt capital markets mandates.
    • Develop innovative debt financing structures that are responsive to customers’ needs.
    • Lead and coordinate execution of transactions through all stages from inception to close.
    • Deal execution; take a lead role, completing the due diligence, reviewing the offering memorandum, educating the sales force, interfacing with the syndicate group and ensuring that all internal and external activities to close the deal are executed.
    • Client support; assist in client development and management. This will include support in business development activities and presentations, client follow-up and day-to-day client management.
    • Develop and grow a high functioning investment banking team with deep capacity to execute debt capital markets transactions.
    • Spreading of credit risk through loan syndications.
    • Develop and manage the relationships with market regulatory authorities and other stakeholders for debt capital markets transactions.

     

    The Person:
    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

     

    • University Degree preferably in a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualifications in a relevant field preferably CFA or similar field will be an added advantage.
    • Have at least 6-8 years management experience in investment banking and or structured corporate finance and must have:
    • Experience of having worked on and supported debt capital market transactions across various sectors.

     

    1. Experience in debt capital markets structuring and arranging.
    2. Experience in deal origination and execution.
    3. Experience in Capital markets advisory.
    4. Experience in Relationship management.

     

    • Comprehensive understanding of the debt capital market, products and services
    • Should have a thorough knowledge of Banking products, services and the financial services Industry.
    • Strong financial modeling skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of delivering client pitches as well as writing and preparing presentations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish new client relationships and generate new business.
    • Should have excellent, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to positively and clearly communicate with a variety of constituents.
    • Excellent planning, problem solving, strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.

    The Position: Reporting to the Head, Digital Financial Services and Mobile Payments, The job holder will be responsible for managing and growing our E-Commerce & Online payments channels.     • Able to supervise others to help develop objectives, set goals and model principles to grow consistently high performance levels to drive department and company success
    • Monitor developing ecommerce & online payments technology trends, evaluate business opportunities, recommend and execute new project initiatives.
    • Help develop and deliver regular reports on web site metrics and benchmarks to company leadership
    • Developing integrated marketing programs that include: SEO, email marketing, paid search, re-targeting and drip-campaign.

    Head, IT Quality Assurance & Application Development

    The Position: Reporting to the Director, IT, the position is Responsible for the Quality Assurance and Application Development and Evolution of IT systems used by, developed or procured by the Bank.

    Ensure that all IT Systems are developed in line with the approved Software Development Process and Enterprise Architecture Framework and within the Bank policies and best practice.

     

     

    The role is also responsible for the quality management and control of solutions delivered for use by the bank.

    • Manage the Software Quality Planning through application of appropriate procedures, standards and templates with adaptation of these to specific software projects
    • Manage the process of Software Quality Control through a series of inspections, reviews, and tests used to ensure conformance of the delivered product to its specifications while monitoring Software Quality Metrics through collection and analyzing quality data to predict and control quality of the software product being developed
    • Identify and implement quality management tools
    • Own and maintain environments required for testing purposes

     

    The Person
