    GENERAL MANAGER - BUSINESS & STRATEGY

    (HR/02/01/17)

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will be the main driver for Business Development, and take a leadership role in rallying the various business units towards the attainment of the business targets. He/She will be responsible for formulating and implementing the business development strategies for the Bank and ensure business growth of Assets, Liabilities, Revenue Streams and Customer Base.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze current Market and Industry trends and develop overall strategy for Business Development for the bank
    • Formulate and Implement policies and practices that are competitive and aligned to the bank’s growth strategies.
    • Plan and direct the bank’s business development activities to achieve short term and long term set financial performance standards.
    • Develop Business division budgets and manage approved capital and operating budgets, costs and profitability.
    • Execute business division plans in order to obtain results set in the corporate strategy
    • Drive performance in the liabilities, assets and other related revenue streams through the branch network
    • Manage and evaluate departments in business in order to drive performance
    • Identify and act on critical business decisions in order to enhance growth and profitability of banks business initiatives
    • Oversee the growth of the geographical footprint of the Bank.
    • Implement Strategies on penetration of virgin business segments, markets and sectors.
    • Ensure growth of assets and liabilities business including transactional, alternate and direct banking business.
    • Responsible for maintaining and growing the market share for customer segments, and effectively partnering with all other business lines in the bank for business growth.
    • Take a lead in product development and ensure alignment of products to customer needs and expectations.
    • Oversee the development of the Business Development Team by ensuring effective team mentorship, coaching and leadership.
    • Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements.
    • Working closely with risk and compliance units to ensure effective controls to mitigate against business risks associated with Business.
    • Developing and continuously reviewing Business Development Policies and Procedures ensuring their compliance.
    • Safeguard and promote the bank’s image with the general public.

    Key Qualities, Competencies & Experiences

    • At least ten years’ experience in a Business Development role in a reputable commercial Bank; five of which must have in senior management.
    • Must have strong business acumen, a strategic thinker who is result oriented
    • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong leadership and networking skills
    • Should be an excellent negotiator who is dynamic and self driven
    • Strong planning and organization skills
    • An open minded individual who is positive and proactive
    • Should be flexible and able to cope with competing demands and good in multitasking
    • Between 35 to 50 years of age

    Qualifications

    • University degree in a Business related field
    • Postgraduate studies or professional qualifications in a related field e.g MBA, MSc., CPA, ACCA, CCP, etc would be an added advantage.
    • Excellent report writing and analytical skills
    • Must be adept in ICT

    HEAD OF FINANCE

    (HR/03/01/17)

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will be responsible for effective strategic and operational financial planning, monitoring and reporting and ensuring compliance with local and international reporting and accountings standards and procedures.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for strategic financial planning in the Bank and ensuring compliance to internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
    • Developing, monitoring and submissions of timely and accurate financial statements and reports that will guide the management and the board in strategic decision making
    • Development and implementation of the Finance Department strategy and managing the bank’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
    • Providing sound leadership to the Finance team
    • Oversees and leads annual budgeting and planning process
    • Ensures remittance of all statutory deductions and compliance to acceptable financial standards
    • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting and ensures that there is enough resources to transact business
    • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors
    • Manage the acquisition of assets and ensure that they are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
    • Advises the management on investment decisions taking into consideration risk and liquidity.
    • Oversees the capital structure of the Bank, determining the best mix of debt, equity and internal financing.

    Key Qualities, Competencies & Experiences

    • At least 8 years work experience in a Finance Department in a reputable Banking institution; 3 years of which must have been in a senior position
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
    • Strong problem solving and organization skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Between 35 and 45 years of age

    RISK & COMPLIANCE MANAGER

    (HR/04/01/17)

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the job holder will be responsible for the Bank’s overall enterprise risk management and compliance framework and will be responsible for the providing timely and accurate reports to the various stakeholders.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Formulating and implementation of the Risk and Compliance framework and Policies.
    • Monitoring and tracking of Banks’ compliance to regulatory guidelines statutory requirements and internal processes and procedures.
    • Identification and assessment of the compliance risks associated with the bank’s current and proposed future business activities, including new products, new business relationships and processes
    • Continuous monitoring of compliance with internal policies, procedures and guidelines by through regular and comprehensive Risk and Control assessment and testing
    • Preparation of periodic Risk management reports to the Management and to the Board Risk management committee.
    • Providing assurance of the bank's readiness in case of business interruption/disruption through regular reviews of the unit BCP plans.
    • Responsible for monitoring compliance and reporting for Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism
    • Providing regular training of staff to build on risk management and compliance awareness
    • Reviewing and providing advise on corporate governance management
    • Regular reviewing of transactions to ensure that high risk transactions are identified and appropriately approved.

    Key Qualities, Competencies & Experiences

    • At least 7 years’ experience in a Compliance, Risk or Internal Audit role 3 years of which must have been in a senior position in a reputable Banking institution
    • Keen to detail and sharp analytical skills
    • Excellent report writing skills
    • An excellent and proactive planner with great organization skills
    • Flexible and willing to travel across the country at short notice
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Between 35 and 45 years of age

    • Bachelors’ degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business Administration.
    • Must have acquired professional certification in Accountancy or Auditing

    INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDITOR

    Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the job holder will be responsible for carrying out specific system audit evaluations on the Bank’s IT systems, monitoring and make recommendations on improvements to ensure that the internal system controls are maintained.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate and contribute in the risk assessment process for target audit areas and documentation
    • Carries out audits on operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
    • Review internal control procedures and security for systems which are being developed
    • Implementing external auditors recommendations
    • Develop, and implement audit tests and programs aimed at achieving the desired objectives in areas auditable.
    • Conduct operational, compliance and investigative audits
    • Anticipate issues through research and analyzing new trends and give recommendations/advice

    Key Qualities, Competencies & Experiences

    • At least 3 years work experience in systems auditing preferably in a reputable financial institution
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
    • Strong problem solving and organization skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Between 33 and 40 years of age

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in IT, BBIT, Finance, Business administration or equivalent from a recognised university.
    • Must be a Certified Information Systems Auditor or recognized equivalent

    DIRECT SALES REPRESENTATIVES

    DSR 01/17/HRD

    Responsible for selling the Banks’ Products and Services to the various target market segments.
    This is on short term contract engagement with opportunities for permanent engagement subject to availability of opportunities and surpassing performance targets for the period of contract engagement. The successful candidates will be paid on commission basis based on their productivity on various parameters.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    a) Responsible for Marketing of Banks products and services
    b) Prospecting and on-boarding of new customers into SMEP MFB
    c) Meeting the sales targets on selected Banks’ Products and Services
    d) Upholding and promoting of the Banks’ Brand in their respective regions through professional customer interaction as well as excellent customer service

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of C+ (plus) in KCSE
    • An undergraduate Degree or Diploma in a Business Related course.
    • Experienced in Sales and Marketing will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in computers is mandatory.
    • Clear understanding of microfinance/banking industry is an added advantage.
    • Good interpersonal & communication skills with excellent customer service.
    • A team player who is self driven and persuasive.
    • Ability to work independently under minimum supervision.
    • Strong Christian values, commitment and passion for the transformation of the population.
    • Aged between 22 and 26 years.
