Trade Lane Manager Job at DSV - Global Transport and Logistics

Main Purpose:

This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya - Scope: Kenya –Uganda –Tanzania -China trade lane.

To focus on the East Africa-China trade lane, generating sales leads and translate them to revenue.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing new clients in line with the DSV’s strategy to increase clientele falling under the scope of ‘’key clients” in East Africa – China trade lane.
• Increase business volumes and drive revenue growth through proactive opportunity analysis of existing and potential clients.
• Develop business from non-contracted lanes of existing key accounts in East Africa -China.
• Forecasting sales targets, converting and executing them in the given timeframe.
• Close monitoring of day to day sales activities and submission of accurate data through sales management tool/system (Sales force).
• Support local Sales Teams in enhancing sales that are related to assigned trade lane business.
• Development of yearly business plan(s) for trade lanes including KPI's - subject to signoff by Managing Directors in EA.
• Handling key account customers in the trade lane and developing relationship with key decision makers in target organizations.
• Achieve pre-agreed KPIs with respect to volume and revenue East Africa -China trade lane.
• Quarterly review meetings with Managing Directors in EA.
• Monthly conference meetings with overseas partners.
• Execute any other duties that may be given by management from time to time.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a Chinese, speaking native mandarin and fluent English as second language.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker and planner.
• Self driven and proactive.
• Ability to diplomatically handle difficult and challenging situations
• Must be a good negotiator.
• Must be a degree holder in a business related course with specialization in from a recognized institution of higher education.
• Post graduate education is an added advantage.
• A good understanding of logistics operations at a global level.
