    Navigation Services Director

    To plan and control the operations of Air Navigation Services in accordance with international air navigation standards and on sound economic principles

    Responsibilities for the Navigation Services Director Job

    • The officer will be responsible to the Director General for planning and controlling the operation of Air Navigation Services in accordance with International Air Navigation Standards and on Sound Economic Principles.
    • Developing and overseeing the implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for the Air Navigation Services Directorate;
    • Developing, interpreting and effectively implementing air navigation safety standards;
    • Coordinating collection of data and monitoring trends in the global navigation and safety standards;

    Qualifications for the Navigation Services Director Job

    • A Master’s Degree from a recognized university in any of the following fields:
    • Civil Aviation, Engineering, physical science or equivalent qualification.
    • Advanced professional qualification in Communication, Navigation,
    • Surveillance systems or Air Traffic Management.

    Experience

    • At least 10 years relevant work experience in a large Civil Aviation or equivalent Organization.
    • At least 3 years minimum experience in a senior position (General Manager or manager in Engineering/Communications services or Air Traffic Management or Air Navigation Service operations or any other similar post(s).

    Knowledge and skills

    Air Transport & Economic Manager

    To Plan and direct the activities of Air Transport and Economic Regulation to achieve a coordinated approach to
    policy formulation, inspections, surveillance and licensing of air services.

    Responsibilities for the Air Transport & Economic Manager Job

    • Planning and controlling the operations of the department of Air transport and Economic Regulation in accordance with laws and regulations related to Air Transport Economics and agreed objectives and targets.
    • Coordinating and liaising with relevant organizations /Directorates /Departments /Agencies on matters relating to civil aviation bilateral /multilateral, international agreements, conventions and protocols.
    • Developing, implementing and reviewing competition policy, monitoring and advising on tariffs for passengers and freight.

    • Advising Licensing of Air Services Committee of the Board of Directors on grant of air service licenses and coordinate and ensure compliance with conditions and requirements provided in the air service license, including matters related to bilateral or multilateral air service agreements.
    • Maintaining records of proceedings/notes of evidence in relation to appeals tribunal.
    • Reviewing inspection guidance material, manuals and procedures and developing qualifications for ATO credentials.
    • Overseeing the coordination of Air transport field inspections, operations, surveillance, Air transport data analysis, economic licensing and enforcement activities in all airports to ensure compliance with standards, regulations and best practices
    • Approving aircraft lease agreements, airline commercial arrangements, adhoc air carrier permits, operating authorization for international scheduled air  carriers and coordinating with Ministry of Transport, or where necessary military and diplomatic clearances.
    • Advising and guiding Management and the industry on the interpretation and application of relevant laws and conventions.
    • Preparing and implementing the department’s operational plans and budget to achieve targets in line with the KCAA strategic plan.
    • Conducting regular performance reviews of staff in the department to determine training and development needs and ensuring that the highest standards of performance and conduct are being adhered to.
    • Working with the legal services to propose / draft appropriate legislation and regulations/Amendments.

    Qualifications for the Air Transport & Economic Manager Job

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Aviation or relevant Social Sciences
    • Discipline or Physical science discipline related field from a recognized University;
    • A master’s degree in Economics, Aviation or relevant Social Sciences or
    • Physical science discipline would be an added advantage;
    • A diploma in Air Transport Management, Air Transport Economics or a relatedfield would be an added advantage;

    Qualifications for the Government & Industry Affairs Manager Job

    • Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B)
    • A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with current practicing certificate
    • Registered Certified Public Secretary will be an added advantage
    • A Diploma in Air Law will be an added advantage

    Caretaker

    Job Purpose

    To perform routine checks and ensure security of the buildings and other facilities.

    Responsibilities for the Caretaker Job

    • Conducting regular checks and inspections of all installations in the compound and building to ensure that they are in proper condition.
    • Carrying out day-to day maintenance and minor repairs.
    • Ensuring that doors and windows are locked at all times when the building/premise is not in use.
    • Recording every incident that occurs in the building e.g lift breakdown, power failure, water flows in the washrooms and Kitchens. Alarm ringing, fire detectors and notifying those responsible for appropriate follow-up action.
    • Keeping custody of the keys to the building/ premise including machine rooms, meter room, Generator room etc.
    • Ensuring that common corridors and fire escapes are always kept clear at any time and that all materials are properly stored.
    • Checking the premises to guard against vandalism or break-ins by ensuring that the perimeter wall/fence is in secure condition.
    • Overseeing general cleanliness of the offices/building/compound by supervising janitorial staff to ensure appropriate cleaning activities.
    • Ensuring that light are switched on and off as appropriate, Doors and Windows are locked in accordance to the laid down procedures.
    • Ensuring that the premises are safe and free from hazardous materials
    • Taking and maintaining delivered items and dispatch goods and Materials as appropriate.
    • Maintaining a register of all keys and controlling the issuance thereof.

    Qualifications for the Caretaker Job

    • Certificate in building and general Maintenance
    • O’ level certificate
    • Computer literate
    • A plumbing or electrical or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage
    • At least 2 years’ experience in building

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Demonstrated ability in providing housekeeping and maintenance services for all common areas.
    • A ability to clean, make minor repairs and touch-up paints
    • Keen on keeping parking lots and grounds free of debris
    • Proven ability to take own initiative in case or emergency
    • Able to follow instructions timely and effectively
    • Good communication skills
    • Honest, hardworking, dependable and extremely self-motivated.

    Aircraft Engineer Consultant

    Qualifications for the Aircraft Engineer Consultant Job

    • Hold at least a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or Equivalent
    • Hold an aircraft maintenance engineer’s license with ratings related to the examinations to be conducted in Category A and C (Airframe and Powerplant (Piston/Gas turbine)), or Category A and C Rotorcraft (Piston/Gas turbine).
    • Hold an Instructor training certificate in the field relevant to the examinations to be conducted.
    • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, be technically competent and a person of integrity, be impartial in carrying out tasks, be tactful, have good understanding of human nature and possess the ability to get along with other people.
    • Training in examinations technique will be an added advantage.
    • At least 7 Years working experience as an aircraft maintenance engineer in an approved AMO and should have attended aircraft type courses on various aircraft types and hold type rating licences/approvals.
    • Should have good knowledge of Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs) and relevant ICAO Annexes and Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPS).
    • Ability to set and achieve high standards of performance for self and section and commitment to achieve planned goals.
