How will your day to day at Nova Pioneer look like?

• Infusing joy and passion for learning in lessons so that students are excited about and invested in their academic excellence.
• Being accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards.
• Integrating interactive technology within lessons to enhance instructional delivery
• Meeting up with your learning designer to ensure unit and lesson plans are mapped to standards.
• Setting and communicating rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide student feedback so they internalize them.
• Attending weekly feedback meetings with manager to enhance teaching practices
• Heading a club opportunity for students each term.
• Providing feedback to the curriculum design team about lessons and the overall structure of a unit to ensure revisions are made.
• Fully participating in opportunities for professional growth including daily team meetings and reflections, weekly professional development meetings, instructional coaching, and outside professional opportunities.

Who are you?

• A born teacher. You are not in it by coincidence or accident.
• Teachers’ Service Commission certified/recognized
• A Bachelor's degree in Education from a well-recognized University. You should have graduated officially by the time of application
• Energetic and passionate about education.
• You’re a top performer with a strong academic background
• You have 1-6 years of relevant teaching experience. At Nova Pioneer, we love teachers who have also had varied work experience apart from teaching
• Adept at using Technology. We use a lot of technology for instruction

About The Role

We are looking for an exceptional individual to be the cutting-edge of our work to rapidly expand our transformational education model. The Fellow will work closely with the Managing Director and Director of Operations for East Africa as well as coordinate projects across a range of other teams and individuals throughout the organization. The Manager must be able to also work highly independently to drive new initiatives with minimal direction. Key responsibilities will be:

• Project-managing the establishment of our new schools by providing oversight over all launch-focused work-streams across organization - ensuring clear communication, well-managed interdepartmental co-ordination, and smooth implementation
• Exploring new geographic expansion opportunities through visiting sites, managing relationships with key partners, undertaking financial analysis and conducting detailed research
• Developing analysis and providing recommendations to drive data-driven decisions for school operations - including those for property, staffing, asset financing, etc.
• Driving the exploration and development of key new strategic initiatives, such as the launch of a teacher training college and the expansion into new countries in the region, among others
• Sourcing, analyzing and structuring of key strategic financing deals to fund our continued growth

The fellowship is based in our regional headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya and comes with a stipend to cover living costs. The fellowship is for a minimum of six months with the potential to extend or transition into a permanent role in the organization based on performance.

About You

• You have 4+ years of experience in a rigorous, high-performing professional setting working on demanding analytical projects;
• You have strong people skills and are able to build strong relationships with colleagues and a wide range of external partners, negotiate effective deals, and skillfully resolve conflicts;
• You have exceptional analytical skills and have experience building complex financial and business models from the ground up;
• You have a strong track record of achieving high quality results quickly and can operate independently with limited direction and support;
• You have an exceptional ability to think strategically and yet you sweat the small stuff—people see you as unusually detail-oriented and conscientious
• You have strong project management skills with exceptional ability to manage multiple highly detailed and urgent work streams simultaneously;
• You are humble and have the highest integrity. You embrace our unique organizational culture and are ready to grow by acting on frequent intensive feedback from your colleagues;
