Duties and Responsibilities

Planning, monitoring, controlling and reporting on the following project matters

• Preparation of project implementation plans and ensuring adherence to them
• Advise on contractual arrangements and tender procedures to be followed
• Coordination of project designs
• Cost estimates, cost plans, management of project scope and changes
• Preparation and presentation of tender and contract documentation
• Managing tendering and negotiations
• Project scheduling and planning activities
• Planning and managing meetings and taking minutes of meetings
• Preparation and submission of regular progress reports
• Preparation and presentation of post-contract documentation
• Perform project management and coordination roles
• Planning and implementing Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) on projects in accordance with HH Quality Management System
• Contract administration and other Post Contract activities and services including close outs.
• Involvement in resolution of issues
• Management of Defects Liability period activities

Qualifications

Academic

• Bachelors and/or Master of Science/Arts (MSC/MA) in the relevant discipline.
• Technical training in building and civil engineering construction preferred
• Specialized training in project management will be an added advantage

Professional

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Architecture or Engineering faculties.
• Registration with BORAQS or ACEK as Quantity Surveyor, Architect or Engineer.
• Membership in Professional Societies such as AAK, IQSK, IEK

Required Experience

Must have minimum of 8 years or relevant experience in the area of specialization and Minimum 4 years as Project Manager.

Relevant Skills

• Use of computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, MS Project and Primavera Project Planner
• Bid documents preparation and checking skills.
• Possess proficiency in use of other technical software and applications such as WinQS, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD etc.
• Have strong management skills including leading and coordinating project teams, negotiating and problem solving.
• People skills including interpersonal, communication, presentation skills and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of contract management and administration.

Under general supervision, provides a high degree of sophistication and expertise in the performance of varied and highly complex computer-assisted drafting and design work to support the technical services of the company. Performs independent design work on CAD.

Job Duties:

• Uses CAD system to enter the required data, such as precise measurements and commands, in order to generate designs, construction drawings, renderings, report graphics, interior drawings or other digital images.
• Develops, organizes and prepares a variety of highly complex layouts, drawings and designs from written or verbal specifications, or from rough or detailed sketches and/or drawings made by technical professionals, converting paper documents into computerized files.
• Develops and maintains standards and symbols to meet specialized needs of a particular project or to facilitate or improve CAD utilization.
• Develops, writes and distributes procedures to other CAD users inside and outside own department.
• Produces various design options on the screen or on hard copy. May include technical professionals’ verbal instructions or ideas to assist in resolving a design concept not yet completely defined.
• Uses CAD (CAD Revit) to design, redesign, modify or otherwise edit existing design.
• Performs mathematical calculations necessary to complete simple and complex design tasks.
• Checks final design on screen to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy of drawing.
• Assist in troubleshooting various CAD production technologies, including hardware and software. Provides intermediate/advanced training to technical personnel, as well as those interested in acquiring skills and knowledge of various CAD production technologies.
• Selects and recommends procedures in design and prepares preliminary designs for approval by senior technical professional.
• Designs and lays out final system systems designs with specifications and client requirements.
• Prepares graphic presentations to support feasibility studies and proposals.
• May supply technical data for specifications and provide quantities and cost estimates.
• Maintains working knowledge of governmental regulations, codes and ordinances and their application.

Scope:

COMPLEXITY (Variety or uniqueness of tasks; relative difficulty or importance of work performed; size of unit supported, etc.): Performs varied and highly complex computer-aided drafting and independent design work. Incumbents at this level regularly exercise judgment and exhibit a high degree of sophistication and expertise both in design work and equipment knowledge and utilization. Work involves analytical ability for handling technical details, such a using mathematical formulas, interpreting semi-complex ordinances and specifications, and analysing design requirements.

DECISION-MAKING (Supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error): Applies independent judgment under general supervision, in accordance with established procedures. Work involves some individual creativity subject to approval.

WORK DIRECTION GIVEN TO OTHERS (Titles and number of personnel; type of direction given): May act as technical coordinator or otherwise give work direction to lower level CAD or other personnel wishing to learn the operation of CAD equipment and various production technologies.

INTERNAL CONTACTS (Required interaction/relationship with others within the organization): Internal contacts may include technical professionals and managerial personnel at various levels within and outside own department to organize project and discuss design specifications and requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Diploma/College degree in related technical field. CAD training required. Generally, requires minimum 5+ years of related experience in a combination of technician and/or CAD/CAD Revit is essential. MEP (Would be adventurous). May also require experience in the particular discipline supported. Experience within a consultancy or Project based role.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Excellent technical judgment and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and to give work direction to others. Strong math skill, manual dexterity and computer user skills required. Expertise in CAD production technologies required.
