    Senior Legal Officer

    To ensure proper advisory to the Executive Director and the Board on legal issues that arise in the day-to-day operations of KIPPRA; and advising on legislative and other measures that affect the Board.

    Responsibilities

    • Liaising with external law firms on litigations by preparing witness statements and collecting evidence;
    • Providing legal opinion on matters pertaining to KIPPRA;
    • Updating the Institute on new relevant legislations;
    • Filing periodic statutory returns with the regulators;
    • Drawing standard contract templates;
    • Reviewing contract agreements, leases and other legal documents;
    • Undertaking research on legal issues relating to KIPPRA;
    • Ensuring compliance with Laws, regulations, standards and codes;
    • Monitoring and evaluate compliance with regulations, contractual obligations and policies and implement corrective actions;
    • Conducting investigations on court cases on matters before filing suit; and
    • Maintaining safe custody of contracts and legal documents

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Master’s Degree in Law
    • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized institution;
    • Postgraduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law
    • Minimum period of three (3) years post admission in Legal Affairs;
    • Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court;
    • Member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing
    • Proficiency in computer skills;
    • Management course lasting not less than 2 weeks

    Attributes

    • Knowledge and experience in corporate and commercial law.
    • Knowledge and exposure to finance sector laws, regulations, rules & guidelines.
    • Ability to prepare contracts and various relevant legal documents.
    • Experience in legislative drafting.

    Customer Care Assistant

    To Ensure proper front office guidance and assistance to both internal and external customers and promotion of corporate brand and image of the Institute and implementation of communications policy and strategy

    Responsibilities

    • Taking charge of the reception desk;
    • Profiling visitors;
    • Receiving and ushering guests;
    • Maintaining daily record of visitors details;
    • Maintaining good ambience in the reception area;
    • Responding to visitors queries;
    • Receiving, guiding and directing visitors to designated offices and areas;
    • Issuing passes to visitors;
    • Answering Institute phone lines; and
    • Capturing feedback from visitors/guests.

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Diploma in Customer Service, Public Relations or related field
    • KCSE
    • Computer skills
    • Demonstrated professional competence

    HR Assistant

    To ensure proper implementation of strategic objective on Human resource functions; plan, direct and control Human Resource Management; develop and implement the Human Resource management policies in the Institute; manage staff recruitment, selection, induction and placement; staff deployment in conjunction with the technical departments

    Responsibilities

    • Implementing human resource management policies, regulations, procedures and systems by carrying out the Human Resource practices as per set standards;
    • Assisting in carrying out human resource services in the areas of recruitment, promotion, discipline, training, development and placement; and administering employee welfare systems;
    • Updating human resources database by capturing all changes to data involving human resources;
    • Ensuring office support services like the reception and cleaning services are efficiently availed by Monitoring and guiding the relevant officers in the execution of their duties;
    • Tracking monthly telephone expenses by keeping updated records of telephone services usage to inform management for better financial decision-making;
    • Ensuring remittance of statutory deductions for NSSF, NHIF, KRA and HELB on a monthly basis;
    • Taking part in recruitment processes by preparing a list of advertised positions and coordinating communication with candidates on interview schedule; and
    • Maintaining employee files and the Human Resource filing system

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development, Public/Business Administration, or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Computer Skills
    • At least three (3) years’ experience in HR and administration; and
    • Experience in using computerized HR applications
    • Affiliate member of relevant HR body

    Office Assistant

    To ensure proper for provision of administrative support to the organization in the provision of services like office cleanliness; mail dispatch and general hospitality to enable the organization operates efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    • Opening office building in the morning, lock up in the evening and carry out security checks;
    • Cleaning, washing, dusting and polish offices, furniture, office equipment, windows, hallways and lavatories and wash curtains as well as replenish toiletries when necessary;
    • Attending to spillages and leaks, collect trash and dispose garbage as appropriate;
    • Changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes as well as take steps;
    • Positioning and set up tables and chairs in offices, meeting rooms and auditoriums;
    • Packing office equipment, documents and furniture to be moved or transported from one place to another;
    • Loading and unloading goods from motor vehicles to designated offices;
    • Delivering and collecting messages, letters, documents, packages and other items to and from designated offices or business premises;
    • Photocopying documents, distributing and circulating memos and materials;
    • Preparing and providing office refreshments, cleaning utensils and kitchen facilities;
    • Maintaining equipment and machinery and Ensuring they are in good working condition;
    • Storing cleaning solutions and toiletries; and
    • Maintaining a log of items delivered or received on a daily basis.

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • KCSE
    • Professional certificate
    • Computer skills
