    Product Manager, Data Center

     

    Job Description

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with your Vendor Partner Manager to plan out and create a generic business development plan that will increase sales of services
    • Understand the Vendor's business including core strategy, financial performance, business/growth goals
    • Position Westcon to become the trusted adviser to senior decision makers within your Vendors to the point where they are receptive to receiving our advice on the strategic direction of the business in their particular markets.
    • Help establish expansion of Vendor coverage across EMEA
    • Business Management
      • Identify ways to build margin by means of bundling and developing new propositions
      • Assist where necessary with special orders
      • Manage product updates/releases and price changes
    • Marketing
      • Work with full Marketing Team, Vendor to develop compelling programs and initiatives
      • Produce regular marketing bulletins to communicate all product, service, pricing and promotional activity
      • Provide internal updates on a regular basis
      • Assist with customer events as necessary
    • Administrative/Self Development
      • Maintain regular vendor review meetings and subs
      • Present senior management with relevant reports and analysis
      • Provide monthly reports
      • Provide input to training and workshop materials where necessary

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    • Well organized and methodical approach to work - able to multi-task
    • Appreciation of critical timescales and the impact of delay on client perception
    • Credibility both internally and externally - with colleagues, partners and customers
    • Energy, drive and ambition to achieve business targets
    • Excellent communication skills including management exec level presentation
    • Mature, credible, highly professional, and comfortable in dealing with individuals at senior levels

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 5 years relevant working experience with demonstrated expertise in technical services , in managing or delivering of such services.
    • Technical background and experience with technology
    • Channel; Distribution, Systems Integrator or Vendor background
    • Extensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management
    • Graduate degree in business, computer science or engineering
    • Extremely strong written, verbal and communication skills (including proposal writing and presentation building)
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to team with Sales, Technical, and Operations resources
    • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to do quality work under tight deadlines
    • Able to manage a frequent travel schedule.

    Pre-Sales Engineer - Security (Checkpoint)

     

    Job Description

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Sales
      • Generate and provide customer quotations (verbally and in writing) as requested by the sales staff and business partners
      • Support the efficient promotion of differentiating Westcon Group value propositions through sales engagement and partner training
      • Provide presentation and demonstrations for end users on behalf of our business partners
      • Establish strong, productive vendor relations
      • In coordination with sales staff, proactively work within resellers to position product line and ensure comprehension of portfolio
      • Build visibility with vendors and customers to create a competitive distribution advantage for Westcon products
      • Work with full marketing team, vendor and sales to develop compelling programs and initiatives
      • Maintain competitive awareness of other vendor products and other distribution activity
      • Provide internal updates on a regular basis
      • Represent vendor's product effectively and accurately
      • Present vendor marketing programs and objectives to sales force
    • Customer Support
      • Point of contact for customer inquiries regarding solution designs
      • Acceptance and resolution of queries received via the CRM ticketing system
      • Answering of telephone queries from the pre sales help lines
      • Liaise with and support all other internal teams
      • Provide monthly report on tracking business levels, product trends, promotions and top customer profile
      • Identify ways to build margin by means of bundling and developing new propositions
      • Assist where necessary with inventory and special orders

    • Sales Support
      • Support sales team with product positioning
      • Work with sales team to understand product trends
      • Ensure customer operations have the necessary product and promotional information

      • Work with product management to train Sales staff and Customers on specific vendors products
    • Administrative/Self Development
      • Attend monthly sales meetings
      • Maintain regular contact with targeted customers
      • Present sales management with relevant reports and analysis
    • Provide monthly reports
      • Track competitive issues and log of pricing issues, corrections, and results
      • Maintain and develop own knowledge of Westcon Group services portfolio through vendor and third party partners taken to market via the reseller channel
      • Provide input to training materials where necessary
      • Maintain appropriate vendor certifications to maintain accreditation in line with vendor programmes
      • Maintain knowledge of vendors pricing and channel support tools

    Job Requirement

    • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent
    • Minimum of 4 years in the IT industry (similar role preferred)
    • Technology, and sales support experience
    • Relevant Technical certifications (Product Technical Specialist/ expert certifications)
    • Strong problem solving skills, Ability and passion to concentrate on certain areas of technology driven by company technology objectives
    • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers (Good command of language - written and spoken)
