Job Profile - Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall efficient and effective operation of the Finance Department
• Accountable for accurate and timely financial reporting, adhere to listing requirements of Nairobi Stock Exchange and adhere to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and prepare and submit accounts for audit
• Responsible for accounting activities including managerial accounting; payroll management, management of float cash, payment of accounts and various management accounting reports to help make business Decisions (Eg, cost and profit accounting of each plant)
• Implement optimal accounting policies and procedures for Kengen, e.g. The Development of an improved Capitalization Policy
• Managing finance departments in all operational areas
• Deploy, develop and retain talent including completing performance appraisals, personal development and succession plans effectively and on time in accordance with the established performance management system.

Personal Profile - Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Professional qualification such as CPA (K)/ACCA or equivalent from a recognized institution is mandatory.
• Professional membership of ICPAK/ACCA or its equivalent is mandatory.
• A Masters degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or their equivalent is an added advantage.
• At least ten (10) years progressive experience in accounting or finance management, five (5) of which should be at a senior management level in a large leading organization.
• Exposure to the power sector preferred.
• Proven track record in identifying, negotiating and selecting financiers and delivering on multibillion Ksh financing Projects
