HR & Admin Officer at National Transport and Safety Authority

REF: NTSA/02/2017/20

Reporting to the HR and Administration Manager and Regional Manager, the job holder shall support in execution of administrative and Human Resources activities such as allocation and management of office space, management of outsourced services, Resolution of Human Resource issues and ensuring the safety of assets, property and staffing in the Authority.

Key Duties for the HR & Admin Officer Job

• Coordination of Human Resource activities in NTSA, Mombasa Office;
• Allocation of office space, and ensuring availability of office equipment, furniture and working materials to every member of staff;
• Assist in management of Mombasa office facilities, equipment and machinery including scheduling of repairs and preventive maintenance;
• Responsible for ensuring health and safety regulation are adhered to in Mombasa Office as guided by the Health and Safety committee;
• Support in general office administration;
• Supervision of cleaning and waste disposal services in Authority offices;
• Assist in facilities and asset management; and
• Implementation of a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize use of Assets.

HR & Admin Officer Job Qualifications

To be appointed to this role, the successful candidate must possess the following key requirements;

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution;
• Post-graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in computer applications (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms- Excel, Ms-Access and Internet) from a recognized institution;
• Diverse experience in managing contracts, facilities, transport system and outsourced services;
• Specialist knowledge in public administration management;
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Human Resource Officer II or in a comparable and relevant position preferably within the public sector;
• Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
