    Reporting to the Senior Administration Officer, the job holder will support the execution of administrative activities such as allocation and management of office space, work equipment/tools, management of outsourced services and ensuring the safety of assets, property and staffing in the Authority.

     

    Key Duties for the Administration Officer Job

    • Assist in the allocation of office space, lease agreements, and ensure availability of office equipment, furniture and working materials to every member of staff;

    Finance Manager

    Reporting to the Deputy Director, Finance, the Manager, Finance will be responsible for timely development, preparation and revision of financial reports for effective decision making.

     

    In addition, he/she will provide technical guidance and leadership to the Finance team and work with all departments to ensure compliance with legal requirements including the NTSA Act and the Public Finance Management Act.

    Senior Finance Officer

    ICT Projects Manager

    The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is a State Corporation established through an Act of Parliament; Act Number 33 of 26th October 2012.     Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and the job holder will be responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations in all Authority work places and developing and implementing measures to ensure a safe work environment in line with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act.

    • Provide support in management of staff welfare and benefits requirements in the Authority;
    • Support in administration of staff welfare and benefits records;
    • Continuous preparation and review of staff bio-data;
    • Provide advice to management and staff on a broad range of employee issues including general HR issues, policy interpretation, work conditions, employee development and performance management;
    • Support in resolution of employee grievances and complaints as per the HR policy;
    • Conduct exit interviews to ensure proper information is captured, recorded, and is available for analysis;
    • Assist in the interpretation of labour laws and NTSA human resources policies, rules and regulations; and
    • Manage, develop, mentor and coach the HR Assistants to ensure optimal performance.

    HR Officer Job Qualifications

    To be appointed to this role, the successful candidate must possess the following key requirements;

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or in a related Social Science field from a recognized institution;
    • Diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution;
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Human Resource Officer III or in a comparable and relevant position preferably within the public sector;
    • Certificate in computer applications (Windows, Ms-Word, Ms- Excel, Ms-Access and Internet) from a recognized institution; and
    • Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
