    Senior Manager -Consumer Segment Lead

    Job description

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Consumer Segments Department within the Consumer Business Unit Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the HOD – Consumer Segments, the role holder will be responsible for the design and execution of the overall marketing strategies and end-to-end plans with full P&L accountability for market segment with the aim to increase revenue, profitability and market leadership via sustainable acquisition and retention initiatives.

    Detailed Description

    • Responsible to grow the segment base and revenue while designing, launching, and managing end to end propositions aligned to the overall segment P&L and brand metrics.
    • Design and execute end to end digital marketing roadmap for the market Segment
    • Analyze both internal and external customer environment to draw insights into the segment propositions to optimize revenue and profitability.
    • Drive strategic partnerships and collaboration with key departments that manage market research, customer intelligence, data warehouse, and financial analysis to align to the segment market unit goals.
    • Develop and launch periodic acquisition promotions in order to increase customer base as well as track the performance and revise propositions when necessary in order to increase revenue and profitability;
    • Review and manage creative process for ATL and BTL communication while working closely with Brand Team and all corresponding agencies;
    • Responsible for the development of the segment strategy and developing commercial case to secure commercial approvals for the segment;
    • Project manage the plan till delivery by working with Virtual Business teams and the Joint Delivery Teams
    • Develop and present Market segment commercial performance in monthly reviews while ensuring the Segment Opex Budget is optimally utilized.
    • Lead the Market Segment team in creating and sustaining a cultural environment for the function shaped by the Safaricom way of leadership;
    • Lead and manage the Market Segment team, ensuring the team has clear priorities, direction and remain motivated by providing inspirational leadership through coaching and
    • Increase the employee engagement index for the Market Segment team in line with agreed targets

    Job Requirements

    • Degree in Sales & Marketing or a business management discipline.
    • 8 years’ hands on experience in product management/segment marketing in a highly competitive commercial environment, with at least 4 years’ senior management experience
    • Strong customer focus with proven experience in launching products and delivering against product revenue targets.
    • Experience in managing and developing teams.
    • Strong awareness of market trends, competitive impacts and market opportunities
