• Our client in the Manufacturer of Hygiene and Sanitary items located in Ruiru is looking to fill the Boiler Operator position. The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial boilers and associated equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role involves monitoring and maintaining the boiler system, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimizing performance to support uninterrupted production processes.

Job Description

• Boiler Operation and Maintenance:
• Start, operate, monitor, and shut down boilers in compliance with operational procedures.
• Perform regular inspections and routine maintenance to ensure boiler efficiency and reliability.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• System Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor boiler systems, including pressure, temperature, and fuel levels, using control systems and manual checks.
• Record operational data and maintain accurate logs and reports.
• Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and government regulations, including maintaining proper water and fuel quality.
• Ensure emergency shutdown procedures are in place and operational.
• Preventive Maintenance:
• Conduct scheduled maintenance to prevent system failures.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and system upgrades.
• Energy Efficiency:
• Optimize boiler operations to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and energy conservation.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to align boiler operations with production schedules.
• Communicate effectively to resolve operational challenges.

Job Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Boiler Operator, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in boiler operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
