    Brand Manager (Consumer)

    What you become a part of:

    The successful candidate will ensure effective execution of all aspects of branding and marketing for Shalina’s consumer product portfolio in Kenya.

    What to expect:

    • Curate and execute the annual marketing calendar, including Above the line (ATL)/ Below the line (BTL) marketing activities.
    • Execute activation programs including designing/ production of POSM, consumer promotions, E-com activities, sampling programs, etc.
    • Develop project specific promotion material like brochures/ renders/ collaterals.
    • Own new product launch/ re-launch management; implement all aspects of the G-T-M for new product launches- building and executing plans and channel strategies (promotions, media and POS).
    • Lead the monitoring and reviewing of effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives that have been rolled out.
    • Conduct consumer research, develop and manage web content, product and process innovation, competitive analysis, and campaign management.
    • Identify market-specific threats/ opportunities and execute plans like price/ pack modifications, product innovations, marketing communications etc.
    • Work with internal/ external creative teams and other agencies to build 360 IMC campaigns.
    • Assume responsibility for A&P budget to drive sales growth (both top line and bottom line).
    • Prepare for weekly/ monthly brand performance reviews.

    Essential skills, experience & education:

    • Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Strong collaboration skills to partner with functional teams, agency partners and business teams.
    • Strong communication skills to push on ground activation agenda.
    • Strong analytical skills, understanding consumer needs/ trends and problem-solving approach.
    • Experience of working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues in a complex multi-country, matrix environment is preferred.
    • Self-starter with an ability to stay independently motivated and deliver the assigned mandate.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage own workload effectively but also to be flexible and adapt/ respond to emerging issues, short deadlines and other demands or challenges.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in brand management role, ideally within consumer healthcare or FMCG industry in Kenya.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent is mandatory, tertiary qualifications such as MBA in Marketing highly preferred.
