JOB SUMMARY

CITAM seeks to recruit a born-again Christian who is experienced and self-motivated to fill the position of a Chef, whose responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, management of revenue generation lines and inventory control.

The position reports to the Catering Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• End to end kitchen management.
• Control of kitchen costs.
• Develop new recipes and menus.
• Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
• Ensure all equipment’s in the kitchen are properly maintained and in good working condition in accordance with local Health department and hotel standards.
• Ensure proper purchasing, receiving and food storage standards in the kitchen.
• Interact with guests to obtain feedback on food quality, presentation and service levels.
• Maintain a proper record keeping system for easy retrieval and sustenance of the institutional memory.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Practical knowledge of ISO standards or any other standards for hospitality institutions.

Requirements

• Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
• Diploma in Hotel Management service or a related course from a reputable institution. A degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• 5 years experience as a Chef in a 4 star hotel.
• Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• IT competence with a bias in Hotel related Systems.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
