Chief Accountant –Naivasha at Summit Recruitment and Search

• The role involves managing the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing payroll, and maintaining full compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive finance professional with strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities.

• Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial transactions.
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
• Manage end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring statutory compliance.
• Maintain and update financial policies and internal control procedures.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns such as PAYE, VAT, NSSF, and NHIF.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Support department heads with financial insights and cost control.
• Coordinate audits and provide required documentation to auditors.

Key Qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or tourism.
• Proven experience in payroll administration and statutory compliance.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, IFRS, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
