    Chief Human Resources Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    You will be expected to:

    • In line with the overall BSL strategic goals, formulate, review, and implement human resource strategies and plans, as well as the budgets, and work with other managers to ensure consistency in people management.
    • Develop, implement, and communicate HR management policies and procedures that reflect school standards and culture, train staff on their application and revise them as necessary to ensure continued compliance with statutory requirements.
    • Monitor all HR activities and practices across BSL to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Group policies. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law; apply this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources.
    • Implement and/or support BSL’s staff related change management initiatives and act as the internal human resources consultant on various matters as may be required.
    • Champion a positive organisational culture hinged on productivity and performance through a highly engaged workforce.
    • Maintain good employment and industrial relations through well managed staff welfare schemes, healthy and safe working environment, effective management of disciplinary and grievance issues, with effective communication process; lead the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations and manage implementation of the same.
    • Continuously review and update the safeguarding policy, work with all the schools on its implementation, ensuring the appropriate training is delivered, compliance is monitored, and any changes are communicated
    • Provide leadership to the HR team by coaching, mentoring, and managing their performance. This will include managing staff capacity and skill levels within the HR management department to meet current and planned outputs.
    • Provide HR and children safeguarding metrics to management to allow for decision making and better planning.
    • Manage the renewal process for all work permits, across the group ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time; Serve as the main point of contact for work permit renewal questions and concerns.

    Requirements

    We seek an energetic and mature human resources professional leader with solid experience the management of human resources management at a strategic level, in a multi-cultural environment. We are particularly interested in individuals who have the following:

    Qualifications:

    • Masters’ degree in a business-related field or social sciences;
    • Higher diploma in Human Resource Management and membership to IHRM

    Knowledge, Experience and Competences

    • At least 10 years human resource management experience, with at least three (3) years at a senior level
    • Specialist knowledge in change and conflict management gained in a large and diverse organisation.
    • Good leadership skills with hands-on capability and management style.
    • Proven ability to interpret long term plans into implementable programs and budgets
    • Strategic management skills and an ability to influence change by building key partnerships at all levels of the organisation.
    • Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality when dealing with internal and external customers.
    • Strong leadership, decision making, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
    • A self-starter, high energy level with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Extremely detail-oriented, efficient and able to multitask, prioritise, manage and follow projects through to completion.
    • High moral standing with impeccable integrity
