Chief Manager – Remission & Exemptions at Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

Kenya Revenue Authority seeks a self-driven and performance oriented individual to fill the position of Chief Manager – Remissions & Exemptions within the Customs and Border Control Department. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner – Trade Facilitation, the job holder will be responsible for managing the exemptions and remissions portfolio for the Customs Department.

Key responsibilities of the job

1. Development and implementation of strategies and interventions to facilitate exemptions & remissions
2. Ensure compliance checks for validity of remission submissions
3. Management of vetting of exemptions from the National Treasury & other institutions and process as appropriate.
4. Coordination of the duty remission scheme vetting and draft gazette notices for approval at EAC in Arusha
5. Coordinate attainment of intersectional performance targets and administration of staff in the Division

Professional qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in a Business related discipline from a recognized university.
2. A Post Graduate Diploma in Customs Administration will be an added advantage
3. At least seven years work experience, with three being at management level
