    Chief Officer Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this position, an applicant must:

    • Kenyan citizenship;
    • A relevant Bachelor’s degree recognised in Kenya;
    • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage;
    • Be a strategic thinker and results-oriented;
    • Be a member of the Professional Body in the discipline;
    • Proven experience of at least ten (10) years of service from a reputable organization, with at least five (5) years in a senior management position;
    • Computer literacy
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee smooth running of the Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development Department;
    • Knowledge and experience in the area of Urban and Regional Planning, Urban/Town Planning, Land Surveying and Photogrammetry, Geomatics Engineering, Technology in Geomatics, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Philosophy in Technology (Survey) or Land Economics.
    • Competence is the discipline with proven experience;
    • Exercise any County Public Service Board’s functions as may be delegated according to the County Governments Act 2012, Section 86 (1);
    • Formulate and implement effective Divisional Plans in line with Vision 2030, CIDP II and other Sectoral goals;
    • Proper management and supervision of the human resources in the Department;
    • Ensure efficient financial utilization and accountability in the Department;
    • Ensure the provision of the equipment and tools of work;
    • Planning and coordination of the Department’s activities;
    • Develop, update and implement all Department’s policies and procedures;
    • Create linkages and collaboration with other stakeholders in the field;
    • Ensure compliance with the National Values and Principles of good governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya;
