Dental Officers (2 Posts) at Tharaka Nithi County Assembly

Requirements for appointment:

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Have completed 12 months internship period;
• Registered as a Medical Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
• Have a Valid Practicing License;
• Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
• Willing to undertake duties in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time;
• Certificate in Computer application skills from an institution recognized in Kenya.

Duties and responsibilities:

• The Dental Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the Supervisor for providing dental care including;
• Diagnosing oral conditions, treating, prescribing and referring;
• Carrying out oral and maxillofacial surgery;
• Prosthetic and conservative dentistry;
• Facilitating admission, disease investigation of patients, report writing and where necessary, carrying out surgical operations related to oral or dental diseases;
• Collecting information in dental information system;
• Organizing discharge summaries and follow-ups of dental patients;
• Acting as the first on call of duty;
• Supervise the implementation of care and treatment plans by other medical personnel in dental field;
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
