    General Surgeon

    Requirements for appointment:
    Be a Kenyan citizen;

    • Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.,& ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
    • Must have completed a Masters Degree in Surgery from a recognized institution in Kenya;
    • Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
    • Have a Valid Practicing License;
    • Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
    • Willing to undertake duties Physically in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time;
    • Certificate in computer application skills from an institution recognized in Kenya.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • The General Surgeon shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
    • Apply the principles and procedures of modern medicine in preventing, diagnosing, caring for and treating illnesses, diseases and injuries;
    • Provide Surgical services;
    • Operate surgical clinics;
    • Supervise the implementation of care and treatment plans by other medical personnel;
    • Conduct medical education and research activities in clinical area of work;
    • Participate in the development of procedures for the department;
    • Make decisions regarding work processes based on established guidelines;
    • Prioritize and organize work to meet changing conditions and any other roles and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time;

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a holder of Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;

    • Prosthetic and conservative dentistry;
    • Facilitating admission, disease investigation of patients, report writing and where necessary, carrying out surgical operations related to oral or dental diseases;
    • Collecting information in dental information system;
    • Organizing discharge summaries and follow-ups of dental patients;
    • Acting as the first on call of duty;
    • Supervise the implementation of care and treatment plans by other medical personnel in dental field;
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Orthopaedic Trauma Technicians

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Certificate in Orthopaedic Plaster and Traction Technology or Certificate in Orthopaedic Plaster Technology from a recognized institution;
    • Must be Computer literate.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • The Orthopaedic Trauma Technician shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
    • Manipulating and Reducing fractures and dislocations;
    • Fixing and removing casts, bandages to and from patients;
    • Correcting Congenital Talipes Equino – Venous (C.T.E.V);
    • Participating in managing of minor orthopaedic and trauma cases in emergencies and accidents;
    • Sensitizing and creating awareness on orthopaedic trauma conditions to communities;
    • Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on issues regarding to orthopaedic trauma;
    • Referring patients and clients to appropriate level of care;
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor

    Medical Laboratory Technologist

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory from a recognized institution;
    • Be registered by Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB);
    • Possess a valid Practicing License from KMLTTB;
    • Must be Computer literate.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • The Medical Laboratory Technologist shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
    • Decontaminating working benches;
    • Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens;
    • Preparing clients for collection of specimens;
    • Receiving, collecting, labeling and registering of specimen;
    • Disaggregating specimens for processing and analysis;
    • Preparing reagents;
    • Examining specimen;
    • Writing and recording results;
    • Dispatching the results for use in clinical management;
    • Preparing stains;
    • Performing blood grouping;
    • Issuing blood and blood products to peripheral facilities;
    • Storing blood products according to their requirements;
    • Ordering and monitoring usage of Laboratory commodities; and

    Registered Clinical Officer

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution;
    • Has undergone mandatory 12 months internship period;
    • Be registered by Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;
    • Possess a valid Practicing License from Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Be a holder of a Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic
    • Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized
    • Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography,
    • Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging
    • equipment or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

    Duties and responsibilities:

    The Radiographer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

    • Providing radiographic services to the patients;
    • Processing, verifying and maintaining information relating to patients;
    • Writing and recording results;
    • Dispatching the results for use in clinical management;
    • Ordering and maintaining records of radiographic and photographic supplies;
    • Collecting and compiling data; and
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Security Officer [1] – Head of Security

    Requirements for appointment:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Preferably have a Diploma or a Degree in Security or its equivalent
    • from a recognized institution;
    • Ex-military Officers with high level of documented expertise are
    • highly preferred;
    • Have Certificate of good conduct;
    • Have an experience of at least 5 years.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • The Head of Security shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
    • Providing Security Services in the area of deployment;
    • Supervising Security Officers and or security firm(s) under his/her supervision;
    • Training the Security Officers under his/her supervision;
    • Providing regular reports on security matters;
    • Liaising with the relevant security agencies for reinforcement when need arises;
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
