Registered Clinical Officer at Tharaka Nithi County Assembly

Requirements for appointment:

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Be a holder of a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution;
• Has undergone mandatory 12 months internship period;
• Be registered by Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;
• Possess a valid Practicing License from Clinical Officers Council of Kenya;
• Must be Computer literate.

Duties and responsibilities:

• The Registered Clinical Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
• Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patient’s common ailment at an outpatient or inpatient health facility;
• Implementing community healthcare activities in liaison with other health workers;
• Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
• Sensitizing patients and clients on promotive and preventive health;
• Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skill;
• Collecting and compiling clinical data;Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities; and
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
