    Global Security Advisor

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee PATH’s Duty of Care program and Safety and Security Framework including all related policies, procedures and requirements such as documentation, equipment and training. 
    • Lead the organizational culture for Duty of Care for staff across the organization.
    • Develop, implement, and roll out organizational policies with regards to safety and security.
    • Work closely with the GFTS associates and wider team to ensure synchronization across divisions and departments.
    • Provide input into budgeting for duty of care and safety and security.
    • Act as security point of contact with International SOS, PATH’s medical and security assistance provider. 
    • Lead on Safety and Security advice during organizational crises and oversee incident, emergency, and crisis response at a country level.
    • Conduct regular proactive security analyses for locations where PATH has a presence or is traveling. 
    • Work with Regional GFTS Associates to develop contingency plans for countries during high risk periods (elections, natural disasters etc.).
    • Work with BD to team to complete risk assessments and security planning for potential projects during the proposal phase.
    • Work with programs / project teams to update risk assessments and complete security planning for new projects.
    • Provide safety and security input for high-risk countries or countries considered for new PATH presence. 

    Required skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Seven years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience in security program management
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in writing and orally, especially during high pressure situations.
    • Experience in non-profit setting, especially with USG funding. 
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience identifying, recommending, and initiating new processes, procedures and systems in response to changing needs.
    • Experience in incident or emergency management.
    • Willingness to travel to PATH field offices across the globe
    • Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred. 
    • Desirable: First Aid Trainer qualification
