Job Description

To translate SBG data vision and strategy as well as Country/BU strategy into data strategies in Country/BU/Corporate Function to support SBG objectives. To implement the data strategy by coordinating and facilitating data programmes to enable consistent and effective data driven business decisions.

To enforce governance and compliance, ensuring alignment to the relevant Group frameworks, policies and standards, including compliance to data protection legislation.. Establish, implement, and enforce a robust Data Protection and compliance framework and systems (policies, processes, and tools) so as to ensure that Stanbic Bank is compliant with the Data Protection Act and Regulations

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree, post graduate degree is an added advantage
Field of Study: Computer Science, Commerce, Informatics or any other related field

Required Certifications (privacy): CIPP, CIPM, Cyber Shujaa or equivalent

Preferred: CDMP,CIMP, CAP, DCAM, Data Analytics

Experience Required- 7-10 years

• Experience in developing and implementing  data strategies enabling consistent and effective data driven business decisions
• Managing and oversight of data initiatives (including Projects and Work requests) to ensure benefit realization for the business at all times
• Leadership and strategic direction for the function, ranging from planning and budgeting to motivational and promotional activities expounding the value of Data Management.
• Managing functional teams responsible for data management and governance.
• Experience in Establishing, implementing, and enforcing a robust Data Protection and compliance framework and systems in compliance with the Data Protection Act and Regulations.
• Experience in IT capabilities that drive business value creation, Management Information Systems (MIS) and Business Intelligence (BI).
• Understanding of the impact of implementing information system projects on data management, integration and data analytics.
• Understanding financial analysis and finance information system capabilities.
• Experience in database administration specifically MS SQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle 
• Banking systems knowledge (e.g. GL systems, Front end transactional platforms, product applications such as Home loans, HPL etc.) is an added advantage
