    HR Cluster Lead Technology (HOD HRBP – Technology)

    Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the position holder will Champion the Technology People Strategy. Challenge and drive performance across the business areas through exemplary people & organizational practices.  Facilitate delivery of the people plans for Technology Strategies in support of Safaricom’s strategic objectives. Key focus on organization effectiveness, talent management & building capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Design HR strategy that is fully aligned to business strategy by applying external radar and benchmarks. Drive People Strategy ensuring that it responds to changing business needs
    • Develops change management frameworks, support and deliver of functional change and Organizational Design for the business in conjunction with business leaders and coaches leaders through Change process
    • Act as chief HR consultant to the business. Coach and influence SLT leaders and other senior leaders on the implementation of corporate policies and practices related to Human resources
    • Designs organizational effectiveness indicators to identify opportunities to improve performance across the organization
    • Designs and implements talent & skills frameworks across the organization by benchmarks externally on industry trends
    • Flag bearer for the leadership of cultural change in business areas. Challenge & improve people policies/processes/practices to ensure alignment with The Safaricom Way and new ways of working. Challenge & support leaders in business areas to align behaviors/attitude to new ways of working. Drive effective use of recognition schemes in business areas to reinforce positive behaviors
    • Support communications & engagement of people across the function. Focus on the business areas and help people to recognize their part in drive for performance. Ensure communication processes are working effectively within business area
    • Derive insights from the Surveys (SEMA)and ensure the action plans are cascaded in the business.
    • Proactively manage the HR Business Partner supplier interfaces (Centres of Expertise, HR Operations etc) to ensure a seamless customer experience for Leaders, People Managers and Employees
    • Provide leadership to others (HRBPs) and COE dedicated resources
    • Designs and implements talent & skills frameworks across the organization
    • Develops succession plans for the function
    • Master setting people’s expectations actively working together in teams to improve and set world-class standards for people as customers
    • Lead organization wide cost leadership programs across Safaricom and VF Opcos

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have technical / professional qualifications:
    • Degree in Business Management or related field
    • Breadth of knowledge and business acumen typically obtained from a minimum of 12 -15 years’ work experience in a large commercial organization of which 8 years should be within the HR function directly in, or closely supporting, executive and/or line operations
    • Minimum of 5-8 years in resolution of complex employee relations issues.
    • Demonstrate competence in more than 3 HR technical functions
    • Significant depth in HR practice areas; organizational effectiveness & change, capability development, talent management, employee relations & reward
    • Astute leadership skills; leading others and peers with ability to work in a matrix environment
    • Experience working with corporate client groups with multiple stakeholders
    • Proven track record of managing programmes including change project management in a complex organization
    • Proven track record of managing programme / project management (including the coordination of multiple internal and external resources)
    • Experience of working with corporate client groups
