    Human Resources Associate, GS6

    How can you make a difference?

    The successful individual will be responsible for the following key accountabilities:

    Support to business partnering

    • Ensures that all the mandatory documents required to issue consultancy contracts are available and uploaded in the VISION system.
    • Supports Sections in the consultancy management processes by reviewing Purchase Requisitions and creating the contracts in the VISION system.
    • Support the business partners in assisting clientele in using HR systems such as Talent Management, Agora, and Achieve.
    • Support the management of change processes by advising clientele on changes to Human Resources (HR) processes under the guidance of an HR Business Partner.

    Support in the processing of entitlements and benefits of local staff

    • Provides support to staff on entitlement and benefits administration.
    • Monitors leave utilization to ensure compliance with the policy.
    • In consultation with the supervisor, analyze, research, and verify the information to respond to staff queries on areas related to benefits and entitlements.

    Support in recruitment and placement

    • Provide support in the scheduling and administering of written technical assessments.
    • Participants in interviews as HR Representative including compiling selection reports.
    • Liaises with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process.
    • Initiates and follows up on reference checks and academic verifications and ensures the completion of other background checks.
    • Conducts recruitment quality assurance reviews before final approval is granted.
    • Monitors the life cycle of the recruitment process to update the supervisor as necessary.
    • Prepares monthly recruitment monitoring report.

    Support in organization design and job classification

    • Participates in the review of General Service (GS) positions and specific Job Descriptions (JDs), ensuring effective application of International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) methodology.
    • Drafts and edits of job descriptions to be submitted for classification for review by the supervisor.
    • Follows up and liaises with Headquarters (HQ) and Regional Office (RO) over the status of requests to ensure timely completion.
    • Prepares documents to be submitted for classification to RO and HQ, ensuring completeness of documentation.
    • Updates the office’s organizational chart to reflect any changes as and when necessary.

    Support in learning and capacity development

    • Assists team in organizing courses, workshops, and events by participating in exercises that aim to build the capacity of stakeholders.
    • Develops and processes contracts for institutions providing training and courses, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations.
    • Assists team in organizing and conducting courses, workshops, and events by preparing and organizing the distribution of materials for participants, ensuring availability of training venues, and required equipment and supplies, while providing logistical and secretarial support at workshops.
    • Assists team in organizing and conducting courses, workshops, and events by preparing events as necessary
    • Provide administrative support to Human Resources Development Committee and compile minutes.

    General office support

    • Provides support in contracting facilities for different Human Resources related events.
    • Supports sections in writing staff announcements and staff appreciation notes.
    • Provides any other general office support as requested.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have.

    • Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization.
    • A minimum of six years of progressively responsible human resources work experience is required.
    • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
