    ICT Assistant

    JOB DESCRIPTION OF RESEARCH OFFICER

    1. Checking for and fixing any broken links. 
    2. Performing website/platform backup. 
    3. Performing database backup. 
    4. Updating plugins. 
    5. Monitoring security breach attempts and fixing vulnerabilities. 
    6. Checking for broken images and replacing as required. 
    7. Remaining in contact with the web host and informing ICNL if any server changes are important to their account. 
    8. Completing Monthly Backups of the website and saving it to the local server. 
    9. Troubleshoot to diagnose and resolve issues with equipment such as printer, computers, laptops, mouse and servers. 
    10. Ensure privacy and security of network and computer systems. 
    11. Provide guidance and orientation to staff on how to operate new software in case it is installed and computer equipment. 
    12. Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications. 
    13. Monitoring operations of organizational emails and accounts.
    14. Cleaning the email folders.
    15. Any other task you may be asked to perform related to ICT from time to time. 

    Qualifications

    • Diploma or degree in in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information System from a recognized institution.
    • Minimum of one- two years progressive experience working in ICT Field is an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
    • Should have excellent computer skills, Network skills and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose PC, LAN, Printer and IT Hardware problems.
    • Proficiency in computer (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.)
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skill and excellent communication and written skills.
    • Demonstrate professionalism, maturity and sound Judgement
