    Knowledge Management Specialist [Learning and Development] - Retainer

    Functional Responsibilities:

    In close collaboration with the responsible UNAOC Programme Manager, as well as the other L&D officers, the incumbent will:

    • Organize and support the learning trajectory of the participants (during online and in-person trainings).
    • Identifying gaps in participants’ knowledge or skills through various assessment tools.
    • Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance of educational materials.
    • Bringing in external experts for specialized training sessions.
    • Track participants’ learning progress and program effectiveness.
    • Providing one-on-one coaching to the participants.
    • Identify potential platforms to organize and, if required, attend the final symposium (tentatively August 2024, at a location to be determined).

    Education/Experience/Language requirements:

    Education:

    • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in preferably (peace) education, conflict and development studies, political science, international relations, social and humanitarian sciences, law, public administration, or a related field.
    • A first-level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and 2 years of work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    Work experience:

    • Five (5) years of relevant experience in peace education and/or designing/facilitating learning trajectories for multicultural youth.
    • General knowledge or understanding of peacebuilding, youth-led organizations, capacity development, and/or international UN policy frameworks related to these fields.
    • Assets are experience in online training, intercultural and interfaith dialogue issues, media/communications as a medium for generating positive narratives, and other relevant peacekeeping themes.
    • Exposure to the LAC region is considered an asset.
    • Able to use a gender and intercultural approach.
    • Be able to work in a team.

    Language:

    • Fluency in English is required.
    • Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
