Monitors, maintains, and gauges fuel in tanks, tanker trucks and, collapsible bladders on tactical fuel farms. Performs usage calculations and maintains fuel levels to meet mission requirements. Prepares and verifies receiving and/or fuel shipping documents; visually inspects fuel samples and checks API gravity and temperature. Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tactical fuel systems and fuel tanker trucks. Responsible for safe and timely set-up, monitoring and transfer of fuel movements during a specific shift assignment. Ensure through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to a safe and efficient operation
Familiar with the hazards of petroleum products, such as safe fuel-handling procedures, the dangers of static electricity, and grounding & bonding. Maybe responsible for oversight and leading the work of subcontract workers. Skills normally acquired through use of military tactical fuel distribution systems and fuel accountability paperwork procedures. Three (3) years of prior experience in petroleum storage and distribution operations and fuel systems maintenance. Must be capable of operating a standard drive transmission (Stick Shift 5 Speed).
