    Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Intern (MHPSS)

    SCOPE OF ROLE: 

    This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, upcoming professional seeking to obtain on the job experience in MHPSS programming while working with a motivated multinational team. It requires a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and at the same time offer creative ideas to achieving the goals of MHPSS programming in humanitarian and development settings.

    KEY RESPONSIBILLITIES:

    • Support mapping of ongoing and past MHPSS programmes and projects in the region and collect relevant information and data from countries.
    • Support mapping MHPSS ambitions across the region and collect relevant information and data from countries.
    • Support operationalizing the SCI MHPSS Strategic Framework in the region 
    • Support preparing MHPSS capacity building for country office staff including gathering relevant research and data 
    • Support researching potential local MHPSS partners in the region
    • Support MHPSS advocacy work for various Country Offices in the form of developing capacity statements, social media posts and factsheets
    • Support research and knowledge gathering/dissemination of various MHPSS topics with countries and relevant communities of practice. 

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • University degree in psychology, social science, mental health or another similar field from an acknowledged institute.
    • Knowledge of child development and child and adolescent mental health.   
    • Experience in research, data analysis and report writing regarding mental health and psychosocial wellbeing and support.
    • Ability to work independently, set priorities, prepare manageable work plans with multiple tasks and deliver high-quality outputs.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English essential, other regional languages an asset)
    • Preferably well connected to MHPSS communities of practice and professional networks. 
    • Experience working with children and adolescent MHPSS programming is an asset. 
    • Experience working with migrants and refugees is an asset.
    • Experience with refugee/marginalized communities desired.
    • Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.
