Network Administrator at SonySugar Limited

The job;

The Network Administrator shall be responsible for first hand diagnosis, repair and restoration of the computer hardware, printers, scanners, UPS, networks and Network Equipment to guarantee maximum, robust and secure network availability. The person carries out continuous assessment and repairs of the Wired and non-Wired Connectivity.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

• Carrying out site surveys, designing requisite network design, documenting and ensuring relevant configurations to guarantee maximum, robust and secure availability;
• Carrying out prompt preventative maintenance, repair and reinstatement/reinstallation of all computer hardware and network;
• Continuously assessing ICT hardware & Networks to ensure they are suitable for use;
• Maintaining the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN);
• Liaising with the Internet Service Provider to ensure continuous uptime on provision of internet, MPLS and SIP services;
• Developing, configuring and maintaining all the network resources and ensures their 24/7/365 availability;
• Ensuring that all related utilities, software are up to date, licensed and has a running maintenance contract;
• Ensuring that all internal systems are protected from possible threats including hackings, exposure to SPAM mails and any internal manned and unmanned threats;
• Guiding end users with basic systems troubleshooting techniques;
• Providing user support in relevant areas;
• Ensuring that all connections to third party service providers are secure and sufficient only for the purposes intended;
• Working alongside contracted service providers to ensure quality service delivery;
• Configuring the Windows Server, DHCP, DNS and Active Directory as per highest global standards;
• Ensuring that all users are able to connect to the relevant servers including email, SAP-ERP and AMS;
• Managing routing devices to be manageable and have a minimum as per the required level;
• Ensuring clear segmentation between Voice, Data and Visitors VLAN for easy management/isolation;
• Maintaining the requisite documentation, registers, logs and records of all key activities at the Networks;
• Designing, managing and maintaining Company Hotspots as per the Company policy.

Person Specification /Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology (BBIT), Computing Science and Technology, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University;
• Certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other network security certifications, Microsoft Server 2019 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2023 are a MUST HAVE.
• Proficiency in IT Security/Cybercrime, COBIT/ITIL, CCNA or equivalent shall be considered as an added advantage.
• Familiarity with a mid to large ICT business enterprises preferred
• Eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which must have been at supervisory level.
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
