Requirements for appointment

• Holder of a Diploma in Occupational therapy from a recognized institution.
• Be registered with relevant regulatory body (Kenya occupation therapy association.)
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;
• Leadership skills and problem-solving skills.
• At least one-year experience in a busy hospital
• Other requirements as per the relevant Scheme of Service

Duties & Responsibilities

• Management of rehabilitation Services in a Hospital or Health Center.
• Helping patients develop, recover, improve in regards to a condition or injury, as well as maintain the skills needed to execute daily activities.
• To use different types of modalities in management of different conditions.
• Engagement in social activities, identification of people with disabilities, educating community about disabilities, promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, remove barriers and obstacles that disrupt participation.
• Improve the functional capabilities of PWDs
• To compile reports according to stipulated report guidelines
• Liaising with division heads on health services; and be deployed in specialized clinics.
• To work in collaboration with other stakeholders in all departments
• Safeguarding and ensuring maintenance of equipment and appliances
• Maintaining up –to- date health information system in area of specialization.
• Analyzing medical reports in area of specialization.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
