Operations Manager at Aircraft Leasing Services (ALS)

Reports to;The Head of Operations

Role Purpose;The  Operations  Manager  is  responsible  for  the  safe  and  efficient  functioning  of  the  flight operation department of the Company.

Principle Responsibilities/Accountabilities;

• He/sheis responsible for and assuring that licenses and documentation of all the Company's aircraftoperations  with  regard  to  the  Kenya  Civil  Aviation  Authority  and  other  relevant authorities arecurrent and valid at all times.
• He/sheis responsible for obtaining Police Department of Defense, Diplomatic and all other relevantclearances as and when required
• )He/sheis responsible for liaison with all Government bodies that concern the operation of theCompany's aircraft
• He/sheis  responsible  for  the  overall  discipline,  welfare  and  morale  of  operations  ground members.
• He/she is  further  responsible  for  the  supervision  of  general  administration,  and  in conjunction  with  theChef  Pilot  and  Head  of  Training  /  Chief  Training  Captain  for  the efficient functioning of the flying section as a whole in accordance with the requirements of the  Kenya  Civil  Aviation  Authority  andthe  company  policies  and  procedures,  as well  as recommendations  of  the  International  CivilAviation  Organization  that  apply  to  the operational aspects of the Company's activities.
• He/shemust  ensure  in  conjunction  with  the Head  of  Operation,  Chief  Pilot  and,  if applicable, Head of Training / ChiefTraining Captain and operations supervisory personnel, the maintenance of proper records regardingflight operations in general.
• He/sheis  to  assign  crew  for  flights  and  draw  up  flight  schedules  in  conjunction  with  the SchedulingOfficer
• He/sheis to ensure that all contractual requirements with respect to aircraft and crew are met.In  the  absence  of  the  Operations  Manager,  his  regulatory  duties  and  responsibilities  will  be delegated to the Chief Pilot in writing.

Education and Qualifications

• The operations Manager should have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
• Two  years'  experience  in  the  Operations  Department  of  a  Commercial  Air  Transport Organization;
• Computer literate;
• Should have completed a Flight Dispatcher's course, and
• Thorough working knowledge of Operations, KCAA, and ICAO Regulations
