Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing and painting various surfaces, maintaining the aesthetic appeal and overall luxury experience for guests. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed
• Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and sprayers with precision and efficiency
• Perform touch-ups and repairs on existing painted surfaces
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care of tools and equipment
• Collaborate with team members and other trades to coordinate work schedules and project timelines
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns
• Estimate paint quantities and materials needed for each project
• Stay updated on new painting techniques and products to improve efficiency and quality
• Complete projects within specified timeframes and budget constraints
• Assist in training and mentoring junior painters as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a professional painter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
• In-depth knowledge of various painting techniques, paint types, and application methods
• Excellent color matching skills and understanding of color theory
• Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work schedules
• Basic math skills for calculating paint quantities and measuring surfaces
• Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to comply with all safety regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues that may arise during projects
