    Quality and Compliance Supervisor

    Position Summary

    • The Quality and Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and comply with regulatory, food safety, and industry requirements. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems, conducting audits, overseeing laboratory testing, and promoting a strong culture of quality, food safety, and compliance across operations, particularly within avocado sourcing, processing, and oil production.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Assurance Management

    • Develop and Implement quality assurance policies and procedures
    • Lead in conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards
    • Analyze quality metrics and prepare weekly reports to the management
    • Lead in monitoring product quality throughout the oil and fresh processing, Including dry matter test (Maturity), oil FFA and PV test, final product inspection during dispatch etc.
    • Identify and address any deviations from quality standards or products
    • Assist identify the fruits maturity, notify the procurement in charge and take corrective action to prevent losses on yields

    Compliance Oversight

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements ie Public Health, NEMA, OSHA, County Government and Internal policies
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices
    • Coordinate and prepare for external audits and inspections
    • Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures as per the implemented standards
    • Identify compliance risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective risk management
    • Monitor Compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards

    Team Leadership

    • Supervise and mentor quality assurance staff
    • Provide Training on quality and compliance standards
    • Forster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

    Auditing, training and reporting

    • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments
    • Prepare compliance reports and identify areas of improvement
    • Provide training and support to staffs on compliance matters
    • Act as appoint of contact for compliance related inquiries
    • Identify compliance risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective risk management

    Cross functional collaboration

    • Work closely with production, maintenance, sales and other departments
    • Facilitate communication between teams to ensure quality goals are met

    Key Deliverables/Outputs/Key performance Indicators

    • Compliance with ISO, HACCP, and food safety standards maintained at 100% audit readiness. 
    • Reduction in product defects / non-conformities. 
    • Accurate and timely laboratory test results (FFA, PV, Dry Matter, maturity). 
    • Implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). 
    • Improved workplace safety metrics (reduction in incidents). 
    • Timely submission of quality and compliance reports. 
    • Staff trained on quality and safety standards. 

    Academic and Professional Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or related field. 
    • Professional certification in Quality Management Systems or Food Safety (e.g., ISO 22000, HACCP). 
    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in quality assurance within food processing, preferably avocado or edible oil industry. 
    • Proven experience in quality audits, compliance management, and laboratory testing. 
    • Strong understanding of oil quality parameters (FFA, PV) and fruit maturity indicators. 

    Key Skills and Competencies

    • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO standards) 
    • Food safety and hygiene expertise (HACCP principles) 
    • Analytical and laboratory testing skills 
    • Knowledge of avocado maturity, dry matter testing, and oil extraction quality control 
    • Health & Safety compliance knowledge 
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
    • Leadership and team management abilities 
    • Report writing and data analysis skills 
    • Communication and training skills 
    • High level of integrity and accountability

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Can start immediately
    • 3+ years of work experience with Quality Assurance
