    The Fairmont Norfolk is a historic hotel in Nairobi, Kenya and is owned by the luxury hotel chain, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts. The hotel has 170 rooms, 4 restaurants, and consists of 5 main blocks, each ranging from 1 to 2 stories high. The hotel has a signature Tudor style of architecture that has been maintained since its original construction.

    Resident Naturalist (Contract)

Under the responsibility of the Cluster and Experience,  and Activities Manager you contribute to their perfect reliability and integration.     What you will be doing:

    Reporting to the Cluster and Experince Activities Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

    • Greet Guests upon arrival with a warm and sincere welcome 
    • Take guests on nature walks
    • Give quality lectures on Maasai Cultural talks and wildlife talks
    • Assist guests and answer inquiries regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
    • Take guests on bird walks
    • Take guests on game drives
    • Answer guests queries on flora and Fauna
    • Other duties as assigned

    Your experience and skills include:

    • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
    • Previous experince in driver/guiding and wildlife lectures in a Luxury setting an asset
    • Proficiency in English required, bilingual is an asset
    • Excellent written/verbal communication.
    • Strong guest service orientation, utilizing empathy and creative thinking
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
    • Frequent walking and standing during shift
    • You not only bring your abilities, but also your character
    • Flexibility, team spirit and reliability are a matter of course for you
